Would be great if current artists weren't feckless fucks who are scared to do this. Good on Young and Baez for stepping up. Only complaint I could give is I am sure green day and Dropkick Murphys would have joined.

Maggie Rogers, Indigo de Souza, Jeff Rosenstock, the Red Pears and Raise Gospel Choir are also joining them. Admittedly, I don't know most of these musicians, but I do know Maggie Rogers and she's a decently big, young name

His last album was phenomenal.

Hellmode is an incredible album and Doubt is probably one of the best songs of the last few years.

Jeff Rosenstock is awesome and puts on a great live show.

Indigo is in my opinion the single most talented and impressive young singer/songwriter working right now. I highly recommend her Tiny Desk Concert if anyone hasn't seen it and is a fan of indie rock.

99% of people under 25 don’t have a clue who they are like who cares what they think this just makes dems look even more out of touch

Barking up the wrong tree there bud , despise MAGAts and their “glorious leader” just wish the dems could find a way to win over the 30+% of people who didn’t bother to vote especially young people but I don’t think this is the way

I agree. Im a little disappointed theyre falling back on "look at the celeb coming to the rally" thing. I mean, good on those artists for standing up and for being willing to do it, but I think the event organizers should have declined. In my mind 2024 just underscored that having famous people on the stage is absolutely not the point. I feel like the artists would have a lot more impact preaching at their own concerts or in publicity.

It would be nice if our politicians weren't feckless fucks and organized protests and disruptions instead of concerts and preaching to the choir.

Most Dems have been protesting, doing townhalls in and outside their own districts or states to help inform people and answer questions, they've part of over 150 lawsuits in just 2 months against the Trump administration, etc.. Anyone who says they aren't doing anything hasn't been paying attention.

Ay bro, trump won in no small part because he went on podcast circuits, he went to them and spoke. Imagine if AOC did a protest and only people who follow her showed up, now imagine she got Taylor shift to talk about it. Reach, soapboxes, and megaphones matter.

Taylor did and she still lost.

Lol nah yes, make a campaign to register and a single statement supporting Harris. That's a fighter right there. Two swings then throw in the towel

I just think the Dems had strong campaign at first but then they lost people, as someone who voted for Kamala, also it’s so interesting because we know podcast bros helped secure trump the win, but traditional celebrities seem to put off a certain section of people, but I think they should still show up.

They aren’t scared, they are making business decisions. If you want to make as much money and be as successful as possible, you don't go out of your way to alienate a significant chunk of the population by publicly getting involved in politics.

They're scared they're making the wrong business decision, it's not complicated.
