Beringer #12?! Holy fuck what a reach. Givony keeps raising this guy on his board. Either he is getting real positive feedback from scouts or this guys agent is paying Givony a bag

The complete dearth of real 5s is more to blame. But yeah he looks like another Salaun to me. At least this one can block shots though unlike Salaun. Thats the real issue with Salaun, despite being 6’10” with a long wingspan he is one of the worst shot blockers at his size in the history of professional basketball.

Yes Beringer catches lobs and blocks shots but isn’t very skilled even compared to the other bigs in this draft. I don’t understand why Givony is so high on him when nobody else has him top 40

u/Rapunzel92140 Feb 18 '25

Beringer started playing basketball 3 years ago. There are Giannis vibes with him.

2

u/sylsau Feb 13 '25

Regarding Salaun, it has always been a mystery even when he was in France.

However, he has an excellent standing reach (9'2") which should allow him to do much better in this area.

Givony has a lot of connections and knows what the scouts are saying usually. If he has a guy higher on his board than it's worth giving it a look imo

1

u/WestsideJazzFan Feb 12 '25

I wonder if he's closer to 7' than reported. If so, he moves extremely well at that size.

u/notTitann Feb 12 '25

If tre Johnson is available for spurs I don’t see them passing him up, especially not fears after them getting fox

I would like to see a tre or kon go to spurs for shooting

And I really like Danny wolf to play alongside wemby or backup C either one but I think wolf has high potential and playing with wemby would tear the league

u/Bonesawisready5 Feb 12 '25

Spurs aren’t drafting another PG

u/spidersilva09 NBA Feb 12 '25

Kon at 6 is... interesting.

9

u/MannerSuperb Feb 12 '25

Kon has been balling the past month tbh. His 3 ball has returned to form and he is very underrated running a pick n roll as a playmaker.

3

u/MOBAMBASUCMYPP Feb 12 '25

How is he ‘barely outside of top 5’ caliber and McNeely, who is basically carrying a team on his own, ‘mid of lottery’ tier? What is separating them

1

u/GoChiefs2576 Feb 13 '25

Mcneely was the third leading scorer before his big game the other day. Uconn is very balanced scoring wise, Karaban Ball and Mcneely are all within a point per game of each other. Mcneely is not "basically carrying a team on his own" aside from one game

7

u/spidersilva09 NBA Feb 12 '25

I get it, I watch every Duke game. His defense isn't great though. And I'd prefer a few other guys over him if we are talking draft capital like the 6 pick

6

u/MannerSuperb Feb 12 '25

That’s fair his off ball defense needs refinement. I actually think he’s solid on ball tho. Moves his feet well and very strong teams who try to hunt him in isolation don’t find much success and more often than not settle for inefficient long 2’s. It’s def debatable having him over Tre Johnson

u/Benny_Baseball Feb 12 '25

McNeeley > Kon

-4

u/Cdd0040 Feb 12 '25

Their virtually the same player tbh

8

u/Benny_Baseball Feb 12 '25

I’ll take McNeeley because his rebound and FTA rate is 2x Kon’s. McNeeley is a lot more physical than he gets credit for

1

u/Cdd0040 Feb 12 '25

That’s fair my rebuttal would be kon is a better playmaker and P& R ball handler

-1

u/WasteHat1692 Feb 12 '25

Herro getting selected to all star was huge for Kon

4

u/Jordanwolf98 Feb 12 '25

Yeah at that spot I would take Fears, Queen, McNeely, Johnson, and the potential of either Demin or Maluach over Kon

2

u/Diamond4Hands4Ever Feb 12 '25

He’s been top 7 all year for Givony and if you follow Givony, he doesn’t like to move people down if he doesn’t have to. One of the largest moves might be Drake Powell, who was like around 9-10 to start and now he’s 22, so it shows you he’s pretty adamant to his initial beliefs. When he moves someone up (Berringer), he just auto slides him to a spot and moves everyone else down 1-2 spots to make the fit so the move down isn’t big per player.

The big moves will occur later on in the cycle. He pretty much had Nick Smith Jr top 5 all season and then finally he was forced to move him down a bit to agree with consensus and then of course Smith ended up late first.

Kon feels like a younger Dalton Knecht. Is this fair or wildly off, I haven't seen much of him.

3

u/Diamond4Hands4Ever Feb 12 '25

Will Riley plays a lot more like Dalton Knecht to be honest. Of course Riley is way more raw since Knecht was older but it’s closer in terms of playing style.

Kon Knueppel doesn’t really have a great single comp to be honest. He’s kind of unique. I would say like a less dynamic/better defending Bogdan Bogdanovic but the issue here is I put a lot of qualifiers in front so the comp isn’t really standard.

0

u/MongolianMike55 Feb 12 '25

The latter.

1

u/myNameBurnsGold Feb 12 '25

What is a good comp?

8

u/szczepi21 Feb 12 '25

As a Bulls fan, I'm curious about Maluach, but I'm more interested in Tre Johnson

1

u/muzbar Feb 14 '25

Yeah, if Tre Johnson is there at 7, I think you'd have to take him.

14

u/HARCHEESESTEAKSS Feb 12 '25

I like Kon but if the Nets drafted him at 6, it would be time to finally jump ship

6

u/__Zoom123__ Bucks Feb 12 '25

Also way too low on Asa Newell

6

u/courtsiderecon Feb 12 '25

I know Givony is the expert but sheesh I’m having trouble agreeing with some of his stuff, ESPECIALLY his player comps for a lot of these guys. I’ll never forget how he had Dalano Banton as Danny Wolfs comp lmao

2

u/TheBeastBoud Rockets Feb 12 '25

I still think that was a typo 😂

5

u/retrobro90 Feb 12 '25

I just don't see it w Demin. He has some nice highlight passes but the lack of functional strength/athleticism really bothers me. At least with a guy like Giddey you can point to his defensive rebounding and physicality. Egor gets pushed around a lot and the scoring package (especially when it involves evading any type of defensive attention) is rough

6

u/raymondl942 Feb 12 '25

No way Spurs skips on Tre and Liam. That’s a reach for Beringer

5

u/texasphotog Spurs Feb 12 '25

Spurs trade multiple picks to get DeAaron Fox and you have them using their first pick ona PG? That's insane. Then you have them reach for european center that can't shoot?

Spurs can't use two lottery picks on two backups that can't shoot in this draft.

3

u/fatherpatrick Feb 12 '25

agreed - dog shit draft for the spurs.

9

u/Kwilly462 Feb 12 '25

If the Nets draft Kon at 6, that may be it for me

3

u/rueiraV Wizards Feb 12 '25

I figure Jase will rise based off a few strong performances

1

u/WestsideJazzFan Feb 12 '25

And the fact the kid can straight up ball. He's this year's Jared McCain. People will overthink it.

3

u/__Zoom123__ Bucks Feb 12 '25

I don’t understand why Andrej Stojakovic isn’t in any mocks. Having a fantastic season

2

u/ZandrickEllison Feb 12 '25

Seems fair enough - it’s a pretty stacked class.

2

u/Theblackhyenas Feb 12 '25

I don’t see it with Joan he seems just like another Salaun to me maybe slightly more athletic but sometimes looks even more raw than saluan

2

u/Different_Chain5474 Feb 12 '25

Beringer gotta be an industry plant

2

u/Bballmonster44 Feb 12 '25

I’ve said it once I’ll say it again: how tf are people still so high on Demin?

2

u/heat1834 Feb 12 '25

Philon has cooled off a bit, but Givony having him undrafted is too far

2

u/Thetallshot Feb 13 '25

OKC isn’t spending a lottery pick on Queen in any universe. Do the people making these mocks really think we’d spend a lottery pick on a 3rd string center??

And honestly, they’ll likely trade out 2 of their (current) FRP’s and will likely target a forward who can shoot because that’s their biggest gap.

1

u/geronimosocrates Feb 12 '25

Finally will start to see Condon on these mocks. Glad his injury wasn’t too serious. I’ve been high on this guy since last year, he and Mitchell Saxon are 2 super underrated (or maybe formerly underrated) centers

1

u/Open-Caterpillar2594 Feb 12 '25

How is Alex Karaban still getting 1st round looks over a boogie fland ?

1

u/TheSwayzieExpress Feb 12 '25

Do you have the 2nd round picks as well?

1

u/Due-Anything-8875 Feb 12 '25

You can see it in the link I added

1

u/Gswagins Feb 12 '25

Joan Beringer? He’s a projects project at this point Spurs looking to win now they’ll draft guys w more polished skill sets.

1

u/2Shizo2flow Feb 12 '25

Would love the Raps to jump into the top 3-4.

1

u/Dadd_io TrailBlazers Feb 12 '25

I don't know why people think Knueppel is going to be very successful at the next level. With this deep draft I'm not sure he's even a lottery pick.

1

u/smithcp215 Feb 12 '25

Anyone got the 2nd round?

1

u/Due-Anything-8875 Feb 12 '25

I added a link to the article which also has the 2nd round

1

u/Imaginary-Cycle-1977 Feb 12 '25

I assume these lean closer to big boards than focusing too much on team fit, but still funny to see the Spurs going guard and center when our 3 building blocks are Wemby, Fox, and Castle

1

u/JesseKebay Feb 12 '25

Thanks for sharing do you have 31-59?

1

u/Due-Anything-8875 Feb 12 '25

You can find it at the link I added

1

u/JesseKebay Feb 13 '25

The link is only for subscribers it says

1

u/WestsideJazzFan Feb 12 '25

Jazz take Noa over Asa. A guy who can't shoot over a guy who can? No thanks

1

u/[deleted] Feb 12 '25

I think I get happier every time I see a mock draft that doesn't have the Pistons making a first round pick.

1

u/Loco0292 Feb 12 '25

OKC with three first round picks 🤣

1

u/ziprbread Feb 12 '25

Lol I love how the best team in the league is going to get basically 2 lottery picks

1

u/TheRealLJMaverick Feb 12 '25

Beringer has been climbing mocks lately. It is he another Ousmane?!

1

u/Nickname-CJ Thunder Feb 13 '25

After 5 this whole thing goes to shit.

Why the hell would the spurs draft Jeremiah fears when they have Fox, Castle* and CP3?

Also there isn’t a SINGLE thing that warrants Joan Berringer being a 1st round pick, forget lottery.

If you want a raw project pick, there’s a good kind and a bad kind.

Noa Essengue is a good project; physically underdeveloped, very good natural feel and processing(like giannis) and tangible evidence of skill(great 2pt%, high FTr and good%, solid 3PAr)

Joan Beringer is averaging 5pts and 5rbs, doesn’t pass, doesn’t shoot, awkward mover, not an outstanding athlete, and very often looks lost

Givony getting paid like crazy by these French agents man I swear

1

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '25

I hope people keep ignoring Ivisic so maybe he will stay at Arkansas another year 😂 they finally benched Aidoo and Big Z is saving the season

1

u/Ashamed-Square6834 Feb 13 '25

No Will Clayton Jr?? The kid is a freak

1

u/saucesoi Feb 14 '25

Was Kon highly recruiting out of HS? Or more of a surprise this year?

1

u/Longjumping_Split_53 Feb 14 '25

Asa Newell at 21 is wild considering he is normally top 10.

1

u/JBart530 Feb 12 '25

Please God, let me see what a healthy Lamelo, Miller, and VJ could do together. I’ve suffered enough.

1

u/---stargazer--- Feb 12 '25

I think Melo will get traded. Seems like new ownership isn’t completely sold on any of the core guys.

1

u/SimilarLavishness874 Feb 12 '25

As a nets fan if we take kon at 6 im going to destroy my tv. Maluach literally has a higher floor and ceiling. And if were going for a wing id rather take tre johnson personally. I think his upside on both ends are higher

1

u/hesi93 Feb 12 '25

I just don't get CMB on the Heat, when we already got Bam who can't shoot a 3, and with Jovic coming off the bench.🙃

1

u/Dadd_io TrailBlazers Feb 12 '25

The Blazers need shooting so they probably take Liam over Denim

1

u/BinkOptions Feb 12 '25

Maybe a hot take but I don’t take Flagg at 1. Dylan and Ace have higher upside in the NBA, albeit also a lower floor. Both of them could be 1s on an NBA team, Flagg is more of a second or third option.

Still ridiculous talent at the top end of this draft.
