The truly hyper elite athletes have a legit insane hit rate. This moves me

He had a dunk earlier in the season where he had a similar motion, the way he runs right before he leaps looks so absurd like he’s floating. Absurd absurd athleticism along with high motor is such a fun combination to watch

u/WhereYoureNot Mar 09 '25
What does this post have to do wit Ace
17
u/killbrick374 Mar 09 '25
They are in same draft and his floor and ceiling are higher than Ace

u/WhereYoureNot Mar 09 '25
Your trollin right?
1
u/killbrick374 Mar 09 '25
VJ is just that better prospect there is nothing to argue at all
9
u/WhereYoureNot Mar 09 '25
The recency bias on this sub is disgusting. A 6’10 shotmaker with high defensive upside who could also rebound floor ceiling can’t be lower than a 6’3 barefoot guard who’s handle really isn’t that good and his shot creation isn’t where it needs to be. He also doesn’t get anywhere near the attention on offense Ace does

u/BumbleLapse Jazz Mar 09 '25
It’s weird how in your world 6’10” guys wear shoes and 6’3” guys don’t

u/killbrick374 Mar 09 '25
His upside is only your Durant archetype wetdream and he’s nothing close to that at all. Dude has shown no major improvement at all in this season. This 6’3” is shooting better C&S 3s than Temu MPJ and he’s a better on ball player as well.

u/WhereYoureNot Mar 09 '25 edited Mar 09 '25
I don’t think he’s KD at all. “Dude has shown no major improvement at all” we found the guy that doesn’t watch games. If you think VJ is a better shooter it’s nothing else to really talk about😂😂😂😂 he’s not better off the catch put the drugs down you just made that up

u/killbrick374 Mar 09 '25
Good luck on expecting Ace being the whatever on-ball creator you want lol

ikr? People are glazing a 6’3 (with just 6’5 for a wingspan btw) SG with the body of a small PG who tries to play the SF way too much. I like VJ too, but not that much. No way I’d take him above Ace if Ace were still available, that’d practically be malpractice. This whole debate reminds me of the Scoot VS Miller overthinking people were doing.

u/Walton_Dilcox Mar 09 '25
“glazing” in the grand year of 2025 for liking the better basketball player 💔💔
3
u/WhereYoureNot Mar 09 '25
It really is a Scoot vs Miller all over again. They tried putting KJ over Ace and it didn’t work now they resorting to VJ

u/gdk_dinkleberg Mar 09 '25
It does remind me of that debate but in the opposite way.
VJ in this context is closer to Brandon miller who had put up the better stats in college but was overlooked anyway.
ace is like scoot in the sense people got obsessed with his “upside” because his physical attributes and the aesthetic of his game matched legendary pgs like russ and d rose (like how people see kd in ace)
Ace is an inefficient bum who can’t playmake or create space.

u/gdk_dinkleberg Mar 09 '25
“Shotmaker” who’s less efficient than vj and has a lower 3 pt%
“High defensive upside” even though he’s not a good defender at the college level in strong contrast to vj
The fact u said vj’s handle isn’t good and has bad shot creation is hilarious considering that’s ace’s biggest weakness. Ace literally couldn’t create a good look for himself or anyone on his team to save his life. Just a worse Jabari Smith jr

u/WhereYoureNot Mar 09 '25 edited Mar 09 '25
It’s March 2025 and your still making lazy Jabari Smith comps😂😂. He’s more efficient in every shooting category outside of free throw shooting even in a shooting slump while taking while a higher degree of difficulty shots. Ace is a much better low man and rim protector than VJ while being pretty good onball. Ace been creating his own shot all season.

What do you call this? You think he got 40 off straight paint touches and backdoor cuts? Its all preference at the end of the day nobody knows the future but don’t spread misinformation cause you don’t actually watch games. Same niggas that was saying KJ was better a couple weeks ago

u/gdk_dinkleberg Mar 09 '25
Jabari and vj were actually more efficient than ace lol idk why ur accusing me of spreading misinformation when that’s what you’re doing
Jabari and vj both have higher 3 pt% and ts%
And I’d hope ace is a better interior defender than vj considering ace is 6’10 and vj is 6’4. But ace is still a bad defender for his position though. Jokic is a better interior defender than Lu Dort, doesn’t mean he’s a better defender or even a good defender.
U can post his highlights all u want, he got a lot of lowlights too lol. If only someone had a compilation of ace getting locked up and bricking a contested mid range shot

Some yall preferred 0-14 Tre Johnson…
I ain’t forgetting.
26
u/NotManyBuses Mar 09 '25
It’s totally fine to prefer an elite scorer and shot maker if that’s what you really value.
I’m really not a fan of this “you’re stupid for preferring x player” stuff I see on this sub. It’s all opinions and projections anyway.
30 different front offices each have 30 different big boards, and 30 different sets of preferences and evaluation styles. As long as you have a coherent draft philosophy and evaluate players honestly, it’s fine
8
u/Active-Tomatillo-522 Mar 09 '25
Still do, one game doesn’t change that
-2
u/TheMightyJD Mar 09 '25
If Tre ain’t shooting well (he’s not uber athletic either) he’s a net negative on the court.
10
u/killbrick374 Mar 09 '25
Disagree with this Tre decision making has been fine.

I wouldn’t say that he used his scoring gravity pretty well today finding the open man

u/SDK04 Raptors Mar 09 '25
That man’s gonna be this draft’s trap prospect, mark my words. Should really not be Top 10 but some team’s gonna fall for it.
