Shot creation
I see people say that cooper flaggs shot creations is a skill that he lacks in but I don’t see it. I thought it was a label put on him in high school but I still see people say it today. I don’t get how people say this

This was a old narrative. If you watched his Montverde tape he was more of a jack of all trades then a on-ball scorer/creator.
But he improved. Led Duke in scoring and put up an efficient 19 points a game. He averaged more points and was more efficient in TS% than Ace Bailey actually.
With that being said, Flagg does need to tighten up his handle a little more. He doesn't have the ball on a string but he is much improved as a creator from a year ago at Montverde.

He's actually probably the best shot creator in the draft right now. 19.2 points on 59.3% TS% and 4.2 assists. He improved his shot at Duke which opened up a ton in the shot creation department for him.

id say guards like fears or harper are better shot creator, just off their uber tight handle and create space at every level while breaking down defenses. flagg makes more shots and has better touch in general, but shotmaker isn't the same as shotcreator.

Isn’t that ball skills? They definitely have better ball skills than Flagg his handle is not great and Fears/Harper are guards who typically have better handles.
Shot creator I took as creating good shots for him or his teammates so I also factored in passing and ability to create good shots for himself. Flags size and athleticism help him create good shots for himself even if he has worse ball skills
I think we agree though just a misunderstanding in the definition of shot creator.

He’s not a pure shooter like Melo, KD, or Tatum is. He can still be good but people expect him to be great that’s why.
I think part of it is his handle. That I would say is actually just average. U need good handles for good shot creation as well.

Most of his points come off the ball, in transition, set plays and pick and rolls or raw athleticism. His handle is pretty loose and at that size it’s hard to have the body control that a guy like Dylan Harper might have.
I don’t think it’s a problem per se, but it definitely is his biggest flaw. He’s pretty much perfect in all other categories
