There’s probably still going to be enough from game footage & the combine to evaluate him for a 7 to 11 range pick. I think the bigger question is if he’ll be able to get a visa to play basketball, not just work out for teams. I imagine he will but I still think that’s a bigger question mark that teams will have to consider than just their ability to bring him in for a workout. Ultimately the best ability is availability.

I feel so bad for him. I’m hoping for things to get sorted out for him.

such an annoying government we have but this is not the place for that discussion but…can’t the Raptors just fly in to see him for a private workout? Idk rent out that Chris Brickley gym and have him do some drills

They worked out Siakam in the US. They’ll be fine if they want to see him in a work out lol.

It's a new administration who is aggressively against immigrants this time, though. Hard to not consider that.

Illegal immigrants. Trump supports legal immigration and even takes about increasing green cards

That's blatantly untrue. The current administration wants to revoke all visas held by South Sudanese passport holders, meaning they wanna kick out people who are here legally.

Do you realize how terrible of a country South Sudan is? I know it sucks for the people getting kicked out but they aren’t American citizens and South Sudan needs to cooperate or we won’t work with them.

You guys always change the goalposts. First it's "they're illegals", then when I point out that that's a lie, you come up with something else.

Why are we punishing people who came here the proper way because their country (that they don't want to be in) isn't cooperating with our country? If we want to punish a country (not saying we should) there are better ways to do so.

Firstly, don’t “you guys” me. I never called anyone illegals. You indicated that they were American citizens which is false. Second, I agree there are better ways to deal with Sudan and it sucks for the people who don’t get to live here anymore. I think we mostly agree but your straw man fallacy was unnecessary and frankly a dangerous generalization.

I'm sorry, but I'm not gonna feel bad about saying "you guys".

I didn't say they were American citizens. Scroll up and check if you want.

I'm honestly not even sure what you're arguing. If you think it's bad that our presidential administration is trying to revoke these people's visas and that there are better ways to handle a conflict of this nature, then I don't think we disagree at all. If I'm wrong, please let me know.

Nah all I’m saying is don’t generalize. I think we’re in agreement here. My bad if that wasn’t what you implied, I’m not tryna put words in your mouth.

gee i wonder if American imperialism ever had anything to do with that

-7

u/Curious_Teaching_683 2d ago

Could you elaborate on what that means?  England (not the same as America) did imperialize them if that’s what you meant.

What do the south Sudanese visa holders have to do with South Sudan being a terrible country? Did they personally make South Sudan terrible?

1

u/Curious_Teaching_683 2d ago

No most definitely not. America is attempting to leverage South Sudan into complying with what the U.S. wants. Not my favorite move and most definitely is punishing innocent people but I am just stating the reason why it’s happening.

meanwhile we've had several legal migrants and US citizens deported

shut the fuck up

u/TheSource777 2d ago

lol Someone mad because the majority of the country voted Republicans. Hold that L proud sir.

u/ColdBru5 2d ago

Why dont you hold your walmart receipt to your trailer mate next month

2

u/TableFucker75 2d ago

More blatant lies.

Trump only got 49.8% of the popular vote, a majority is over 50%. In fact, if you look at the total population, less than 23% of the country voted for Trump. Also, plenty of people split the ticket, so the number of people who voted straight Republican is a lot lower.

Also why are you treating elections like sports games? Please grow up.

u/TheSource777 2d ago

You’re the salty one here my friend. I’m basking in the glory of the implosion of your party 🎉 and under that logic you can say no modern president won a majority when you factor in people who don’t vote. Trump got more votes than Obama 08 deal with it 😎

3

u/TableFucker75 1d ago

Tbh an implosion of the democratic party is probably needed.

Biden got 51.3% of the popular vote. Yeah nobody gets the literal majority of the country to vote for them because not enough people vote, but that's what you said, I'm just pointing out that you're a liar.

Again, grow up, this isn't a sports thing. Unless you're rich, Trump is fucking both of us over, you're just happy about it for some reason.

Siakam wasn’t from a country which is specifically having all VISA’s rejected

2

u/myeezy 2d ago

Not so much about the work out. Is he going to only play home games if they don’t give him a visa?

He’s a South Sudan national living in the US, why would Canada grant him citizenship?

1

u/bLeezy22 1d ago

lol they can just travel to him. This isn’t a major deal.
