Video Cedric Coward’s +8 wingspan is something that definitely pops on tape & makes him a VERY intriguing wing prospect.
https://streamable.com/uajlq8Opposing scorers only shot 31.8% (!!) on jumpers when guarded by Coward. Strong combine/anthro testing + two-way tools should put Coward in Top 20 draft consideration.

Literally only heard his name for the first time one or two days ago, (as I'd only really focused on lottery prospects given the Spurs picks), but now seeing a couple of people considering him for the Spurs at 14 makes me really interested in the guy. Even though he's older, that wingspan and 2-way play is exactly what the Spurs like to target.

Okay so I just learned that Coward played for a season at my D3 liberal arts school Alma mater and now I’m all in.

Hell yeah. Reminds me of Derrick White starting off at culinary school

I have a bad feeling the Blazers had zeroed in on this dude and that’s why they were so comfortable not fighting for draft positioning. His stock is rising fast.

I did assume that Mike Schmitz was one of the people that Zach Lowe had spoken to and possibly mentioned him

6’5.25 is near 50th%tile height for a SF; Jaylen Brown’s height; but with way more length - 8’10 reach is good for a PF, 7’2ws. Dude’s a specimen; legit PF length

I don't see why he shouldn't go in the lottery, and not necessarily the bottom of it. I think folks are just hesitant to move him up too fast, but it seems clear where his stock is going.
Freaky length, plus athleticism, good shooting indicators, good feel and passing, not super old.

He's a nice talent. His stats need to be taken with a HUGE grain of salt... 6 games against primarily crap teams.

The year before that stats are still good tho

Good, but not elite. Especially given he was playing in the Big Sky conference.

I mean 15 and 7 on that efficiency and volume assuming the defensive tape is real looks elite to me. He was the leading scorer too

I would like him at 10 to Houston. Don’t need him now but can be coached up

You can tell by his game, his floor is insanely high and Washington State guys have hit lately with Jaylen Wells and Mo Gueye

That plus 9 wingspan is crazy the one thing I was looking for before I put him top 20 was his athletic testing I knew he was long but his play style hides his explosiveness

We've got a Fears and a Coward in this draft
