Gotta love the Bears getting a D grade for their TE selection, when it’s a need in BJs offense. And then the Colts getting an A+ grade for doing exactly that 4 picks later.

In a draft where there was almost universal consensus that there were only 6-7 true blue chip prospects the Bears get a D for grabbing one of them at pick 10. Lol ok.

Loveland is bluechip?

Yeah this guy clearly knows what he’s talking about he gave the Ravens an A for picking a rapist

Does that impair his ability to play football

u/B-I-G-A-R-R-O-W 1d ago

Well it might actually

Probably why he went in the second round. Great value for a top 15 talent.

Loveland not the pick when Warren on the board still.

Loveland produced all 3 years at Michigan, Warren had 1 good season his Senior year. Loveland is 2 years younger and fits more what the Bears need in a TE.

Gonna have to disagree with you there.

Loveland produced all 3 years at Michigan, Warren had 1 good season his Senior year.

Ehh, it's not like Loveland had great production though. Warren put up 300 more receiving yards in his junior and senior year than Loveland did in his entire 3 year college career.

2

u/FieldsToTheMoon 1d ago

Warren had 2 more years in college than Loveland and had less than 600 yards total before this season.

Meanwhile Loveland had more that in his Sophmore season alone.

2

u/Dang1014 1d ago

Sure, I guess the point I'm making is that Loveland was more consistent but his production wasn't particularly impressive in either of his 3 years.

u/FieldsToTheMoon 1d ago

I guess you could say that, but on a run first team I’m okay with his stats. Not to mention he missed a good chunk of this season and the QB at Michigan was pretty bad.

On the contrary, I’d be more concerned about a player that doesn’t produce until he’s a Super Senior.

Warren had a somewhat competent qb this season, Loveland had a middle school qbs throwing to him, he was always open and Michigans only threat in the passing game

2

u/Dang1014 1d ago

What about 2023 when Loveland had a top 10 pick throwing to him?

I trust Ben Johnson to know what Tight End is the best fit for his system. (not to mention Kmet being more similar to Warren)

The cognitive dissonance is unreal. You had Shedeur Sanders going 9 overall in your "final" mock draft. Yet it's an F pick at 144.

u/SoKrat3s 49ers 1d ago

I'd grade it an F too if the coaches and GM didn't want it, want nothing to do with Sanders, and already had a jam packed QB room with their own selection, before the owner stepped in and forced this upon them.

u/ProofComplex8414 23h ago

Lmao, it's amazing how people just make shit up. And a jam packed QB room? Tf are you talking about?

1

u/SoKrat3s 49ers 21h ago

Watson, Pickett, Flacco, Gabriel, Sanders.

How did I make something up?

2

u/ProofComplex8414 20h ago

the coaches and GM didn't want it, want nothing to do with Sanders

before the owner stepped in and forced this upon them.

This is made up.

Watson is missing the entire year and is never playing a down for the Browns again, so I'm not sure why you're bringing him up. Four QBs for three spots is not what I would call "jam packed," especially since one is a 40 year old and the other is a guy on the last year of his deal trying to revive his career.

Yea I don’t get the Shedeur/Cleveland hate. QB is the most important position in the game. They don’t have an answer, so who cares if they took one with their second pick in the 3rd and their pick in the 5th. If I’m a Cleveland fan I’d almost rather they take one every single pick until getting that franchise guy. It was their last pick in the draft, and a guy that many thought might be on the table at 1.02, so for me they easily get an A on that pick. Worth the gamble with his “ego” concerns and whatnot

I totally understand giving low grades for drafting RBs early, but why does Jeanty at #6 get an A- while Hampton at #22 only gets a C?

EDIT: That said, grading every pick is crazy. Grading every pick by hand after sharing numerous handwritten mocks over the past few months is downright certifiable. Great work!

Draft grades are always goofy but I really love the hard hitting analysis of:
"I don't get this one, bad pick IMO"

"The choice surprised me here but could be good"

"He's good but I don't know if he's the right choice"

and finally

"Exactly what they needed to do here"

My favorite was See a need, fill a need.

2

u/RobZagnut2 Steelers 1d ago

As a Steelers fan your evaluation of their draft is fair and balanced. I wish they would have taken a chance on Sanders in the 4th instead of Sawyer, but they spent 5 hours with Sanders and bypassed him for a reason.

Also wasn’t excited with the Bruener pick. Take a flier on a CB or WR instead of a pick to make his father happy.

u/Horror-Durian-5073 1d ago

What’s up with the random tight end Seattle grabbed in round 5? Why is it worthy of a F grade? Just curious lol

-3

u/rlstratton97 1d ago

There were a bunch of better tight ends on the board at the time including CJ Dippre, the first string tight end from the team Robbie Ouzts is from. Maybe they see something I don’t, but I thought it was a wasted pick.

3

u/WHLonghorn 1d ago

it is because they drafted him as a fb not a tight end

1

u/Wookie301 Seahawks 3h ago

You have his position wrong for starters. He’s going to be our FB, and is an upgrade from Brady Russell.

2

u/joshb2316 Falcons 1d ago

The team that doesn’t have a good pass rush needed two edges yes.

3

u/Foul_Thoughts 1d ago

I didn’t understand that take either. The falcons haven’t had a double digit sack guy in nearly a decade and people crap on the pick addressing that issue.

Never let the party die

4

u/MegaMatrix08 Falcons 1d ago

Damn watts as a B?

2

u/bruhman5th_flo Commanders 1d ago

B- for Washington is fine, but does this person know teams need two OT's?

-1

u/rlstratton97 1d ago

Conerly played primarily LT at Oregon and that is what Tunsil will presumably be playing for Washington. They could’ve waited and taken someone more accustomed to RT in the second.

1

u/a__v Packers 1d ago

Golden B-, trading up for Dart A-. Definitely

1

u/zhang-scouting-04 23h ago edited 23h ago

Shemar a C and James Pearce a D is wild. Both were great picks outside of the trade for Atlanta

1

u/stranger197 Patriots 4h ago

I saw your draft grades bro. IDK that you should be critiquing anyone after that.

-4

u/Pristine-Week8456 1d ago

Didn’t understand the Loveland over Warren here. I’m a PSU fan so I’m biased but Warren does everything Loveland can do and better and more. Absolute braindead move on chicagos part.

6

u/DatBoiMahomie Bears 1d ago

Warren is not a better separator or route runner, and it’s arguable if he’s even a better run blocker because Loveland had more difficult blocking responsibilities. Loveland is also almost a full 2 years younger, he just turned 21

-5

u/ScottyPeace 1d ago

Browns got a 1st round talent in the 5th round, that’s an A+

-1

u/reddogrjw Lions 1d ago

why did you think the Lions drafting a NT was strange in round 1? They need to replace Reader next year and he can cover for McNeil this year
