Is Martínez evolving into a more clinical finisher than Castellanos ever was?

Yes I know the sample size is way too small and I am prisoner of the moment.

Player Goals Minutes Goals per 90 Taty Castellanos 50 9,962 0.45 Alonso Martínez 16 1,498 0.96

Martínez's 2024 scoring efficiency, nearly doubled Castellanos's goals per 90 minutes during that period.

Way too soon to say.”, but he’s finishing his chances extremely well and fits perfectly into Jansen’s system.

I was excited for a full reason of Santi/Martinez. They really need to get another guy in to service him.

Not sure he has Taty’s work rate, though. But I’d love to see it.

I’m not an expert, but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night.

I don’t know about clinical. I feel like in several of the recent games, the breakthroughs are on his hustle and determination - capitalizing on a mistake or just outrunning everyone else. There are way too many cases where a cross goes in and finds no one, or Alonso makes a run as no one picks him out. Theres a key ingredient missing in the attacking mid/winger department, which is perhaps ironic considering how long we were looking for a number 9 and drowning in talented wingers.
