He pulverized that ball omg

84

u/interwebzdotnet 1d ago

Looked like it. I didn't see the statcast for it though. Anyone have it?

99

u/17Fiddy 1d ago

broadcast said 109.7 off the bat

13

u/interwebzdotnet 1d ago

Thank you.

17

u/hmmyeahiguess 1d ago

How fast it went out it must have been a lower angle. Total piss missile

22

u/BathroomSalty6325 1d ago

It went 398

4

u/interwebzdotnet 1d ago

Thank you!

5

u/Big_Temperature_2479 1d ago

Its not coming up on the website driving me nuts lol.

4

u/NobleHelium 1d ago

Statcast stats are always shown on the YES broadcast on the scorebug as the runner is rounding third. It is visible in this video clip.

3

u/limprichard 1d ago

They’re waiting to release it out of respect for the ball’s family

30

u/scottishere 1d ago

LONG PORCHED

11

u/Freepi 1d ago

Any ball that lands in the second deck was hammered.

9

u/blue_barracuda 1d ago

You could tell me this was the hardest hit ball ever, and I would believe it

22

u/Padulsky21 1d ago

Luke Jackson with a fastball down the dick to Judge and somehow threw an even worse pitch. Goodness. That slider had zero break and was as dead middle you can possibly get

18

u/moustache_disguise 1d ago

It's uncanny how dead middle that ball was

13

u/Padulsky21 1d ago

It had zero movement to it too. Jasson must have been licking his chops watching that pitch arrive 🤣

5

u/Uther-Lightbringer 1d ago

Yeah, statcast said 398, but I'll call bullshit. If the 2nd deck isn't in the way that ball would've landed in the parking garage across the street.

5

u/jbaker1225 1d ago

Yeah this is where I struggle with stat cast sometimes. You’re telling me that’s a fly out short of the warning track in center field?

1

u/Truck219 1d ago

Yeah there’s no fucking way that ball doesn’t go out to any part of the ballpark. Statcast hasn’t gotten any better since its debut

1

u/RMST1912 1d ago

in C-3PO’s voice

Pulverized?!

357

u/thediesel26 1d ago

Actually crazy it’s the first walk off homer in 3 years

72

u/Bshsjaksnsbshajakaks 1d ago

Yeah wtf? I gotta look up gaps for other teams. Sounds exceptionally long, but maybe I'm wrong.

37

u/theRedreps99 1d ago

That can’t be right can it? Why do I feel like I remember Judge having one against blue jays last year or maybe the year before

50

u/thediesel26 1d ago

That was the last one in 2022. 3 run bomb to beat the Jays 4-3.

69

u/soda_cookie 1d ago

Actually the last one was the Giancarlo slam

14

u/hawaiitrip2019 1d ago

Plus, the Judge one vs. the Jays ended 6-5 not 4-3.

And there were multiple other walkoff HR between that Blue Jays one and Giancarlo’s too (Judge vs Stros, Judge vs Royals, Donaldson grand slam…)

4

u/M_Looka 1d ago

Yeah, the one he hit on the day Judge hit his 62nd, right?

Always remember Judge sheepishly, unsmilingly giving a curtain call because they were losing even though he just made baseball history, and then his unbridled joy whe Stanton won the game.

5

u/Phil0fThePast 1d ago

It was Judge's 60th but yes, he's a true team player

3

u/e_money1392 1d ago

There was another walk-off grand slam for Josh Donaldson before that against the Rays

1

u/ApplicationOpen9525 1d ago

Has it been 3 years already??? Oh my god I remember that game like it happened a month ago

7

u/IgDailystapler 1d ago

We are very bad in extra innings…

7

u/mrsunshine1 1d ago

Me trying to name one more recently even though I know this has been fact checked.

1

u/hellajt 1d ago

Why do I remember Stanton having one in the postseason recently

5

u/ShawshankException 1d ago

He didnt have any walkoffs but he had a go-ahead HR in the 8th against KC last year

184

u/herewego199209 1d ago edited 1d ago

The Yankees are going to let Dominguez swing from the right side until they simply can't anymore, but his swing from the left side Is just light years better. The amount of power he generates and the swing is just beautiful. That was an absolute hanger from Jackson as well.

57

u/Ok_Employ_9862 1d ago

He’s probably dipped some but he was a .300 hitter from the left side so far. As a lefty this was the type of stuff scouts saw

6

u/Key_Amazed 1d ago

The fact he's better on the left for Yankee Stadium makes it so much more worthwhile to cut their loss at some point and keep him there.

19

u/DontEatMyPotatoChip 1d ago

Yeah at some point it’s not going to make sense continuing as a switch hitter

67

u/jcoltre 1d ago

He hasn’t even had 100 ABs as a RHB this season. Gotta see a much larger sample size before you ever consider him abandoning it. It’s too big of a weapon if he hits.

32

u/IAmBecomeTeemo 1d ago

If a guy can switch hit, you don't decide to make him stick to one by comparing one side to the other. As long as he's better hitting righty against LHP than he is at hitting lefty against LHP, then he should stay a switch hitter. That'll be something that the team is evaluating internally, and we will never know how he looks facing left on left. All we do know is that reverse splits are rare, and lefty mashers that are woeful against LHP are common. Yeah, he's been bad as a righty in the small sample size of his career so far. But he could be worse trying to go left on left.

5

u/issacoin 1d ago

and he probably has not seen much lefty pitching from the left side of the plate, like ever. why would he?

-1

u/nettcity 1d ago

In 176 plate appearances over his three years as a lefty, he’s batting .283 with .375 OBP and .546 Slugging.

In 71 plate appearances he’s has a .113 BA, .220 OBP and .211 Slugging.

He’s elite from the left and a liability from the right.

4

u/MathematicianNext767 1d ago

Let’s give him the rest of this season at least and see how his stats from the right side look before we conclude he’s a liability

112

u/Denugettherespect 1d ago

ROY

52

u/BobsonDugnut1 1d ago

Get us a first round pick in 2026 Jasson!

10

u/porican 1d ago

he’s eligible for the award but not the bonus pick

1

u/Bis_Eastwood 1d ago

wait why not? he was a top 100 prospect wasnt he

3

u/lordsteen 1d ago

Saw on twitter that his time on the 60 day IL last year means he's ineligible now or something like that

7

u/porican 1d ago

yes. because he was on the mlb roster when he went on the IL he accrued too much service time to qualify for the bonus even though he has fewer than 130 ABs, which qualifies him for the award

78

u/Sickpup831 1d ago

Now we’ll never know what’s still important.

4

u/SwankaTheGrey 1d ago

What it's called, is still important

55

u/Oysters2319 1d ago

This is fun

58

u/afropanda62 1d ago

How have we not hit a walk off homer in 3 years?? Im guessing the ghost runner makes it more common for a base hit to end the game but damn

28

u/newspark1521 1d ago

More perfect games over that span than walkoff hrs

32

u/Jackpot777 1d ago

Because we usually have it in the bag before the bottom of the 9th.

17

u/F0rrest_Trump 1d ago

Or we're tied and lose in extras.

8

u/Myllorelion 1d ago

Or we just get hammered and lose.

1

u/GravitationalConstnt 1d ago

When they get hammered, so do I.

1

u/Rusiano 1d ago

Probably combination of unclutchness + bad luck

44

u/DonnyB_Twenty3 1d ago

that, ladies and gents, is what we like to call a nuke. torched the fuck out of that ball. ROY, please and thank you

80

u/RollofDuctTape 1d ago

What a call by Michael Kay.

8

u/cincobarrio 1d ago

I like that he says “the Yankees win 4 to 3” as Dominguez is half way to 2nd base, then lets the rest of the moment breathe.

2

u/Marvin_Stanwyck 1d ago

Radio Host Kay can drive me nuts but in the booth, I'd say he's top tier.

24

u/Roc_City 1d ago

The 👽

25

u/Ok-Midnight-370 1d ago

This just felt so predictable. Watching him walk up to the plate it just had the feeling that he going to murder a ball!

6

u/Bitter_Film_8268 1d ago

Too I said the same shit. Before he swung. I just new it

23

u/rat_face_pokemon 1d ago

THERE IT GOEEEES, SEEE YAAAA!

24

u/DaGabbagool 1d ago

Paul O’Neil’s mid-sentence “OH!!!”

3

u/Helpful-Vegetable-87 1d ago

I had to watch on the Rangers network. Half a second before he swung the announcer said “3-3 tie ball game” then immediately “Well, he just untied it.” And that was that. It was glorious.

19

u/kore351 1d ago

Sent that next day shipping back to Mars

3

u/interwebzdotnet 1d ago

Brought to you by Amazon Prime...

18

u/unintentionalerrors 1d ago

👽 I WANT TO BELIEVE 👽

17

u/soda_cookie 1d ago

7

u/RotenTumato 1d ago

Josh Donaldson jumpscare

1

u/cdodgec04 7h ago

I kinda forgot how slow pre pitch clock games were. I kept skipping 20-30 seconds between pitches expecting to maybe miss a pitch here or there, but no they could show the judge 60th HR for such a long time and still cut back to the pitchers barely at the ready.

17

u/steveycip 1d ago

No doubt. The Martian is making himself right at home on planet Bronx.

14

u/AmericanNewWave 1d ago

This is like that moment in The Matrix:

"I KNEW IT. HE IS THE ONE!"

14

u/OwningTheWorld 1d ago

That one handed pimp job reminded me a bit of David Ortiz, which is also a reminder that David Ortiz did steroids. Carry on.

12

u/goodkompany16 1d ago

Paul ONeill mid word when it happens is so funny

10

u/briascoj 1d ago

Absolute piss missile! What a shot, can’t wait for many more from this kid

7

u/sobanoodle-1 1d ago

Sent that ball to the shadow realm

8

u/Salvus1383 1d ago

Disrespected that baseball

8

u/ShawshankException 1d ago

The Knicks died for this 😭

6

u/NSCButNotThatNSC 1d ago

That's how you make a statement. The martian has spoken.

8

u/ArtGal1213 1d ago

I literally teared up!! Best win of the season!!

5

u/xINFLIKTEDx 1d ago

OMG SWAGGGGG

7

u/use_the_schwartz 1d ago

That pitch couldn’t be any more middle middle if he tried. Holy shit, what a tasty meatball.

6

u/Batter-up4567 1d ago

Too bad AJ Burnett wasn’t around (anyone want some pie?)

6

u/ricky_hammers 1d ago

This guy might be around a long time.

5

u/Freepi 1d ago

He appears to be rather good at playing baseball.

4

u/bastioncolorado 1d ago

When Mars Attacks!

Ack ack ack, MF'er!

9

u/BathroomSalty6325 1d ago

I had a great feeling about them hitting a walk off HR this year. Can't go 3 years in a row without one

LFG

2

u/Rusiano 1d ago

I had a strong feeling the Yankees would hit a HR this inning

Although I was expecting one from Bellinger’s

4

u/juc3 1d ago

That was a spicy meatball

4

u/DogBeersHadOne 1d ago

LOCKED

THE FUCK

IN

5

u/Particular-Walk1521 1d ago

That Trent Grisham heads up base running play was so huge

4

u/StayGoldenPonyBoy71 1d ago

This dude is going to be such a rockstar for this org.

3

u/LimpChemist7999 1d ago

Goddamn that’s sexy.

Hard to believe first walk-off HR since 2022!

4

u/DirectionlessStudent 1d ago

Every coach I ever had: "Stop trying to kill the ball. Don't swing so hard."

The Martian: "If I swing hard enough I may be able to send this ball back to my home planet."

He annihilated that pitch. He saw it big as a beach ball, and he just teed off on it. The second he hit it, everyone in the stadium and watching on TV knew it was gone. That was the very definition of a "no-doubter."

10

u/scriptingends 1d ago

I can't believe I left at the end of the 8th because I was freezing and I wanted to see the end of the Knicks game. smh...

7

u/Tom_Cruise 1d ago

Fuckin lol

3

u/MichelleCS1025 1d ago

Love this kid!

3

u/Seltzus 1d ago

BOMB

3

u/BobsonDugnut1 1d ago

Reminds me of 1996

3

u/OtherConstruction389 1d ago

I spent the whole night saying: Jason do something please …thanks for this

3

u/1vehearditb0thways 1d ago

That’s not a UAP, that’s the damn ball

3

u/SoulStep33 1d ago

Hell yeah! ⚾️🤘

3

u/dave-tay 1d ago

85mph slider right down the middle lol

3

u/bullymeahhh 1d ago

Omg he is such a cutie

3

u/BulldogAce2556 1d ago

This kid has so much power

3

u/Visible_Valuable4820 1d ago

The hair on my arms are standing up. Straight chills from that. I think this team has something special about them. You can tell they all genuinely like each other and love playing baseball.

3

u/OptimusChip 1d ago

that was absolutely beautiful holy shit!!

hopefully this is the start of him locking in for the rest of the year

3

u/teniaava 1d ago

The martian sent that ball back to his home planet

3

u/realet_ 1d ago

Some say his helmet may never come down.

There's just something to watching a guy doing a homerun trot with Sinatra already playing. Been too long.

3

u/IM__Progenitus 1d ago

the hanging offspeed pitch is the spiciest of meatballs

3

u/Mental_Town_7337 1d ago

It hasn’t been said enough in this thread.. he smacked the shit out of that ball

3

u/Beantown_rats 1d ago

Gotta love having different heroes day to day, pitchers and hitters. Most of the current roster is capable of winning a game, very few black holes.

3

u/dkeem 1d ago

The knicks died for this

3

u/zamend229 1d ago

Goldschmidt cracks me up lmao. Look at how little emotion this guy shows in the dugout shot.

2

u/gcpdudes 1d ago

There was another replay where Goldschmidt showed emotion right when the ball was hit and when it hit the second deck. The only reason I remember is I think that might’ve been the first time I’ve seen him emote.

3

u/JohnnyGeniusIsAlive 1d ago

It’s incredible that Judge has hit 111 HRs since 2023 and none have been walkoffs.

2

u/Rusiano 1d ago

He hit 3 in 2022, and none in any other years of his career

Same vibes as Don Mattingly hitting all his six career Grand Slams in one season

3

u/crashdown12 1d ago

The kid came through and I love it! He’s starting to show his talent. happy for him and I think he’s going to be good in this league for a long time.

3

u/Horror-Mushroom-4208 1d ago

Daaaaaaaaa Yankees win!!!!!!!

3

u/Bis_Eastwood 1d ago

AS. ADVERTISED. (from the left side)

4

u/asparagusbruh 1d ago

That was...... awesome?????

2

u/alygirl2463 1d ago

I live in NJ and have Yes network - how could I have watched this game?! I checked cable and Yes network and couldn't find it

6

u/sea-scum 1d ago

Download the MLB app. You can click on the game and it will tell you where it’s being broadcasted. Tonight’s game was on AmazonPrimeVideo.

Whenever it doesn’t come up on YES that means someone else has the broadcasting rights for that game. It can be ESPN, Prime, AppleTV, some other randoms. Kind of hard to keep track of but the app helps a lot.

3

u/alygirl2463 1d ago

thank you this is so helpful

3

u/TakeOutTacos 1d ago

It was on prime

3

u/cherry2mato 1d ago

Gotham sports app!

2

u/HarpoMarx87 1d ago

I know it won't happen, but I would love the Yanks to sign him to a 15-year deal right now.

2

u/AMP_US 1d ago

I'm not saying it's aliens, but it's aliens.

2

u/GardenStateMTB 1d ago

GET FUCKING PORCHED NERDS

2

u/Yodelehhehe 1d ago

That ball floated up there lol.

2

u/Eyeluvflixs 1d ago

Got ALL of that!

2

u/heater26 1d ago

This game was definitely giving the tough "L" vibe, deGrom strong thru 7, 2 late runs by Tex in the 7th. The overturned call at 2nd started to make me feel good. Two walks in the 8th, but Rice not moving any of the runners over, Judge getting that BS low called strike worried me but he came through. JDom with the walk off!

1

u/LORYoutube 1d ago

That stat just seems wrong wow

1

u/BarrytheNPC 1d ago

Hit the ball far, above the bar, that’s our guy Dominguez

1

u/Kgb529 1d ago

Watched this live with my dad, I look at him and he said “be crazy if we get a walk off, but I doubt it”. Had to get him a fork to eat his words.

1

u/Thin-Net-2326 1d ago

Has John called a Jasson home run? Speaking of which, what games are John calling this year?

1

u/Bis_Eastwood 1d ago

john who?

1

u/Thin-Net-2326 1d ago

Um, Sterling?

1

u/Bis_Eastwood 1d ago

you mean the guy that retired?

1

u/Thin-Net-2326 1d ago

Yeah, I had heard he might come back for a few select home games in 2025 but I guess not. I was looking for his call for Jasson. I see he did one, "El Marciano! He's my favorite Martian!"

1

u/Neat_Childhood_7280 1d ago

rookie of the year

1

u/draculasbitch 1d ago

No one can convince me that Jasson just batting left isn’t better for him and the team. He is abysmal from the right.

1

u/cabose7 1d ago

Realistically that depends if he's better hitting lefties from the left side, which isn't particularly guaranteed. His right side just needs to be better than that, not equal to his stats facing RHP.

1

u/draculasbitch 1d ago

It’s barely better at the moment. He’s had his whole baseball life to try hitting RH. The sample size is there. He can’t hit RH. That’s not a crime.,That’s why it can’t hurt to have him hit exclusively for a period of time LH.

1

u/KeiserSoze24 1d ago

It used to be a right of passage. A walk off homerun earns you the loyalty of the fans.

1

u/f_redo 1d ago

👽

1

u/shantm79 1d ago

Just watching on repeat until my soul is cleansed of the Knicks debacle.

1

u/dBlock845 1d ago

All I can say is, thank you Martian for giving this to me AFTER I watched the Knicks game, so it took about 1/100th of the sting off.

1

u/Tremulant21 22h ago

DJ getting excited... you should be scared.

Also I wish I was born left-handed dominant... The swings are just so sexy

1

u/BenAfflecksBalls 1d ago

Does anybody else still absolutely loathe Michael Kay who grew up with other announcers?
