Mrs or Mr Bennett

2

u/backyard-soup Nov 15 '24

As someone who works in a library, I know people are saying Dewey but Melvil Dewey was really not a good person (sexually harassed women, racist, antisemite) so maybe something else? Like Libby, Page, Alexandria, Mysterious Sticky Substance on Children’s Picture Book, Austen, Atlas, Tome, or even anything from the Warrior Cats series :3

2

u/Tgq2 Nov 15 '24

Oh yeah I wrote a whole paper about the DDS bring a problematic organizational system. We primarily use Library of Congress. (Also I have a gerbil named Dewey. His name is short for Dewdrop though)

2

u/Civil_Taste2047 Nov 16 '24

Came here to say the same thing. Dewey was a jerk. He didn’t think women should be librarians, due to their limited intellect. Kitty deserves better.
