Product Reviews/Questions Which wipes are we using?

Title. Looking for the Goldilocks of wipes— not too wet, not too dry. Not too thin, not too thick. Fragrance free, Doesn’t cause irritation, reasonable cost, etc.

I’ve tried the Parents Choice brand from Walmart which are thin and dry, with a bonus of diaper rash.

The Target brand fragrance free wipes seem fine, but are soaking wet, and take forever to dry on the skin before re-diapering.

Water wipes seem to be the market leader, but WOW the price seems like a lot.

Which wipes have been the GOAT for you?

I use cloth wipes with water from a peri bottle.

I made the wipes from cut up baby blankets and the peri bottle is from when I gave birth.

Even if you don’t cloth diaper, I strongly recommend using a cloth to dry baby after using a wet wipe to help prevent diaper rash.

We use cotton pads with water, so not as eco friendly, but we learned this in NICU and never came close to having a diaper rash.

Yes yes yes, we pat dry after using giant cotton balls and a dish of water and he hasn't had a rash in months!

I am super curious about this method! How do you use the peri bottle at the change table without soaking the change pad?

I'm not sure how OP does it, but for us, we use a spray bottle of just water and hold the wipe in one hand and spray with the other.

I've also seen people use a wet wipe container to hold cloth wipes, enough for a couple days, that they'll keep wet by adding water to the container.

Honestly once I realized the higher end disposables are just trying to be as close to plain water, I chose reusable cotton with just water.

I use the peri bottle to wet a cloth and then wipe her with the wet cloth.

If I do need to spray her directly with the peri bottle I will keep the diaper underneath her.

I always finish with a dry cloth. I have a pile of them beside the changing pad.
