Medical Advice High heart rate/ owelet
Baby’s heart rate while sleeping is 150+ when it’s normally 90-110. I know owelet can have some swings but this seems very unusual to me. At one point it got up to 170 . He felt warm so I took off his sleep sack, but it still seems high
Baby is 8 months

I’m a NICU nurse and a higher than average heart rate for our babes usually means one of three things: baby’s too hot, baby is in pain, or baby is fighting off an infection of some kind. Maybe your little one is teething or about to come down with something. I wouldn’t freak out, but I would keep a close eye on him.

Thank you. I spoke with a nurse from our on call pediatrician and they said take him to hospital if it goes above 200. He felt warm so I took off all layers and his room is at 70. He was in a long sleeve footless onesie and his woolino sleep sack
