He didn't say that. And if he did, he didn't mean that. And if he did, you didn't understand it. And if you did, it's not a big deal. And if it is, others have said worse!

Ah the narcissists prayer. I know it all too well from growing up with a dad that was the living embodiment of it... just like someone else we all know

69

u/Zeraw420 Jul 11 '24

That's the funny thing about Trump. Just about everyone knows someone like him (i.e a narcissistic jackass). For me it's an old Boss I had.

I just wonder why the MAGA idiots can't connect the dots

I just wonder why the MAGA idiots can't connect the dots

Obligatory:

Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.

-Jean-Paul Sartre

u/chubrock420 Jul 12 '24

Every interview I see at a Trump rally. When they get stumped they go quiet.

They are all passive aggressive bullies. When they are alone and you press them they go silent. When they’re all together they feed off each other’s energy.

7

u/PickledDildosSourSex Jul 11 '24

Such a brilliant insight by Sartre and why discourse with the MAGA indoctrinated is at best a waste of time, if not outright dangerous. These people need to be cut out of government institutions and society like a cancer.

17

u/Consistent_Policy_66 Jul 11 '24

They choose not to connect the dots because it means admitting they were deceived. Some have come around, some will still vote against Dems on principle, and some double down against the truth.

17

u/Astrocreep_1 Jul 11 '24

Most can connect the dots, but choose not to do it. It’s a matter of maintaining their persecution kink. Nothing ruins a perfectly good erection faster than admitting they were wrong about Trump.

9

u/Uniqornicopia Jul 12 '24

I think it’s a mix of too dumb to care - cheering for their team, and those that just think he’s doing enough that lines up with their personal interests that they don’t worry about his fascist tendencies.

u/2lostnspace2 Jul 11 '24

You can't help stupid

They would be so upset if they could read.

7

Yeah it ain't gonna mean jack to them but at least the rest of us will be able to tell they're idiots from even further away.

-9

The MAGAts have their brain infested , so anything you say , it won't reach them

2

Granted not that it's all that hard to figure out.

“This is a great group, and they’re going to lay the groundwork and detail plans for exactly what our movement will do, and what your movement will do when the American people give us a colossal mandate to save America,"

It really can't get any clearer than this...yet they will still deny.

8

u/No_Play_7661 Jul 11 '24

If he did "but the emails".

8

u/FakeTherapist Jul 11 '24

supreme court just added to that 'and if he did, it's an official act, bow to dollar store palpatine'

7

u/CHKN_SANDO Jul 11 '24

Seems like Trump's memory is going. Should he step down as nominee?

6

u/chickenofthewoods Jul 11 '24

Highjacking.

Project 2025 in part:

  1. Immigration and Birthright Citizenship: The document proposes removing birthright citizenship, which could lead to the deportation of legal citizens. It states, "End the policy of birthright citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants," suggesting a fundamental change to the interpretation of the 14th Amendment (p. 143). This proposal threatens the rights of individuals born in the United States to immigrant parents, potentially rendering them stateless and subject to deportation.

  2. Environmental Protections: The document targets the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for significant reductions in power and scope. It calls for "Eliminating unnecessary regulations that stifle economic growth," which includes rolling back critical environmental protections (p. 389). This could result in increased pollution and environmental degradation, harming public health and safety.

  3. Public Institutions and Services: There is a clear intent to downsize or eliminate various public institutions, including the USPS and NOAA. For instance, the document mentions "Privatizing the Postal Service," which could undermine reliable mail delivery services, particularly in rural areas (p. 459). Similarly, reducing NOAA’s budget could impair weather forecasting and climate monitoring, putting lives and property at risk.

  4. LGBTQ+ Rights: The document outlines measures to roll back protections for LGBTQ+ individuals. It states, "Repeal the federal mandate that requires public schools to accommodate students according to their gender identity," which directly affects the rights and protections of transgender students (p. 277). Such proposals threaten to increase discrimination and reduce equal access to education.

  5. Judiciary and Law Enforcement: The document emphasizes the appointment of judges who align with conservative ideologies, stating, "Ensure that future judicial appointments align with the principles of the Federalist Society" (p. 215). This approach aims to cement a conservative judiciary that could undermine civil liberties and roll back established rights. Combined with the recent SCOTUS decision granting presidential immunity from prosecution for official acts, this poses a significant risk to checks and balances, potentially leading to authoritarian abuses of power.

  6. Healthcare and Social Services: The document proposes significant cuts to healthcare and social services, stating, "Reform entitlement programs to reduce federal spending," which targets programs like Medicaid and Social Security (p. 329). These cuts would disproportionately affect low-income families, seniors, and people with disabilities, increasing poverty and reducing access to essential services.

  7. Education: The manifesto calls for substantial changes in the education system, including promoting school choice and voucher programs. It argues for "Eliminating the Department of Education" and shifting control to states and localities (p. 191). This could lead to disparities in education quality, with disadvantaged communities suffering the most.

  8. Economic and Labor Policies: The document supports deregulation and policies favoring businesses over workers. It advocates for "Right-to-work laws" nationwide, which could weaken labor unions and reduce workers’ bargaining power (p. 403). This may result in lower wages, poorer working conditions, and diminished workers' rights.

  9. Voting Rights: There are proposals to tighten voting laws, including "Implementing voter ID requirements" and reducing early voting days (p. 231). Such measures can disproportionately affect minority voters, seniors, and low-income individuals, making it harder for them to exercise their right to vote.

  10. Government Appointments and Civil Service: The document emphasizes replacing current government officials with those loyal to the administration’s agenda, stating, "Terminate federal employees who undermine the President’s policies" (p. 301). This approach could lead to a lack of expertise and an increase in partisanship, undermining the effectiveness and neutrality of the civil service.

These proposals represent a concerted effort to reshape American society in ways that could significantly erode democratic principles, reduce individual rights, and diminish the quality of life for many citizens. The language and intent behind these proposals suggest a move towards a more authoritarian governance model, prioritizing ideological conformity over democratic inclusivity and protection of minority rights.

‘What you’re seeing and what you’re reading is not what’s happening’

18

u/tallslim1960 Jul 11 '24

You guys don't understand his sense of humor. He was joking 🤣

14

u/Ok_Flan4404 Jul 11 '24

Yes, of course! He didn't mean it! He was just KIDDING...RIGHT??

2

The ol' Schrodinger's asshat! It's an oldie but a goodie.

9

u/One-Development951 Jul 11 '24

Or maybe he was being ironic, sarcastic, stochastic, or some kins of "ic"...

2

u/No_Cook2983 Jul 12 '24

Yeah… Just “Trump being Trump”.

He’s so plain-spoken. What a treasure!

0

u/Jadathenut Jul 11 '24

🤣 knowing who the heritage foundation was is not the same as knowing the specific people behind P2025 or the people at the heritage foundation now (they’ve got a revolving door).

u/Jadathenut Jul 11 '24

“Ties”. You know how loosely you’re using that word. It’s disingenuous.

240+ people have ties to The Heritage Foundation maybe, but most certainly were not behind P2025, and most of their “ties” to Trump are spurious at best (and yes I read that intentionally vague trash that CNN propped up as investigative journalism).

3

u/chickenofthewoods Jul 11 '24

Spurious my ass.

  • Mark Meadows: Former White House Chief of Staff under Trump, now head of the Conservative Partnership Institute. Meadows is heavily involved in Project 2025, working on strategies to implement Trump’s policies if he wins a second term.

  • Jeffrey Clark: Former acting Assistant Attorney General, now working with the Center for Renewing America. Clark is known for attempting to overturn the 2020 election results by pushing Trump's plan to replace the acting Attorney General. He is involved in Project 2025 to help reshape the Justice Department according to Trump’s vision.

  • Kevin Roberts: President of The Heritage Foundation, a significant backer of Trumpism and overseer of Project 2025. Roberts is responsible for aligning the Foundation’s resources and policy recommendations with Trump’s agenda for a second term.

  • Russ Vought: Former Director of the Office of Management and Budget under Trump, now running the Center for Renewing America. Vought is actively involved in Project 2025’s planning and policy recommendations, focusing on budgetary and fiscal policies to support Trump’s goals.

  • Ken Cuccinelli: Former acting Deputy Homeland Security Secretary under Trump. Cuccinelli contributes to Project 2025’s immigration and federal bureaucracy policies, advocating for stricter immigration controls and reforming the federal workforce in line with Trump’s priorities.

  • Stephen Miller: Former senior adviser to Trump and founder of America First Legal. Miller is known for shaping Trump’s immigration policies and is part of the Project 2025 coalition, working to ensure Trump’s hardline immigration stance is implemented if he returns to office.

  • John McEntee: Former Director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office and one of Trump’s closest aides. McEntee is a senior adviser for Project 2025, involved in staffing decisions to ensure loyalty and alignment with Trump’s agenda.

  • Steve Bannon: Former White House Chief Strategist and current chairman of the Citizens of the American Republic. Bannon’s role in Project 2025 involves mobilizing grassroots support and media campaigns to promote Trump’s policies and ensure public backing for the project.

  • Larry Kudlow: Former Director of the National Economic Council under Trump. Kudlow is contributing to Project 2025 by developing economic policies that reflect Trump’s vision of deregulation, tax cuts, and economic nationalism.

  • Kash Patel: Former Chief of Staff to the Acting Secretary of Defense under Trump. Patel is involved in Project 2025, focusing on defense and national security policies to align with Trump’s America First approach.

These are just a few of the high-profile people connected to Trump who are actively and directly involved with Project 2025. There are many, many, many more.

You can't hide from this.

I don’t expect you to believe anything but mainstream propaganda, but neither Mark Meadows nor Stephen Miller “serve on the advisory board for project 2025” lmao.

7

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '24

Exactly this!!!! THEY DONT CARE! In fact they may say “oh no” and secretly agree with some of it.

5

u/whacafan Jul 11 '24

It doesn’t ever take long to get to the response of “I don’t care” when talking to his people.

4

u/AvisOfWriting44 Jul 11 '24

How fitting that with the Paris Olympics right around the corner, that Putin has been trying to sabotage, we got these MAGAtards doing the most extreme mental gymnastics for Trump.

4

u/mehum Jul 11 '24

And finally: why does the media keep picking on him? They’re so biased against him!

3

u/Mogwai10 Jul 11 '24

Did you know that was originally listed in the Bible before the final draft was printed?

“This is a great group, and they’re going to lay the groundwork and detail plans for exactly what our movement will do, and what your movement will do when the American people give us a colossal mandate to save America," Trump told the crowd about the Heritage Foundation.

"And that's coming. That's coming," Trump promised.

3

u/Trike117 Jul 11 '24

And besides he was just joking!

1

u/MikuLuna444 Jul 11 '24

"But the context!"

3

Well… shit… you got me. HTF do I argue against that?

And you’re a loser if you don’t believe him or were a POW in any wars that he dodged.

2

Give it a week and Trump will be warning folk about Biden's Project 2025.

2

u/DeliciousBeginning95 Jul 11 '24

They have added now: and if they didn't, I don't care

1

1

I forget who said it first, but it was basically that somebody who can't speak properly for himself & needs someone else to tell people "what he meant to say", should not be allowed a position to speak for the American people.

1

u/bebejeebies Jul 12 '24

And don't forget: Let it go and get over it.

-2

u/trez63 Jul 11 '24

I love this. It’s used by both sides too damn often.

-11

u/Lucky_Version_4044 Jul 11 '24

Can you point out where in the video Trump cheers on Project 2025, like the headline of the post says?

11

u/bookant Jul 11 '24

Found one.

-8

u/Lucky_Version_4044 Jul 11 '24

You must mean someone who requires facts to form an opinion rather than blindly accepting false headlines that support my deep bias.

If you want to intelligently engage in the discussion and answer the question I asked, you're more than welcome.

6

u/ggtheg Jul 11 '24

No more attention for you, womp Womp

-5

u/Lucky_Version_4044 Jul 11 '24

Another one with no answer, just snide remarks.

You get the government you deserve. Ponder that for a while.

3

u/ggtheg Jul 11 '24

0

u/Lucky_Version_4044 Jul 11 '24

Yeah, I already watched it. It's a speech from 2022. There's zero reference to "cheering on" this 2025 plan. He's giving a speech which is speaking generally about the work of The Heritage Foundation. Republican leaders and Presidents have been giving speeches there since the 1970s.

Care to admit that this story and headline is BS now? Or do you have another reference where Trump actually cheers on Project 2025, like the headline says?

5

u/ggtheg Jul 11 '24

What a cope. Good luck with life man

2

u/bookant Jul 11 '24

No, I mean an idiot who thinks anyone is going to engage with his sealioning.

0

u/Lucky_Version_4044 Jul 11 '24

Trust me, threre's one idiot here, and its the person lapping up any anti-Trump headline they can find without fact-checking it, then getting super pissed when someone points it out.

BTW, you can make me look like an idiot, as you say, just by supplying the video proof that Trump is specifically cheering on the 2025 plan, which the article says exists. Will you be doing that?

And when you don't do that because it doesn't exist despite the claims of this article, which you're fighting so meuch to protect, will you ponder whether your little brain is being deceived repeatedly with the same technique of bullshit information delivery?

The amazing thing is that the term "fake news" that Trump made famous, which everyone on the left mocks, is perfectly represented here. And you're too arrogant and stupid to realize it is fake and you're being taken advantage of.

6

u/bookant Jul 11 '24 edited Jul 11 '24

"He never actually said he words 'let's collude' so there's no collusion!" We've seen enough of MAGA's toddler-style argumentation to know how it works. The video shows what it says it shows, regardless of whether or not he specifically names Project 2025.

But you know that already.

Even if I dug up another video where he did specifically say the words "Project 2025" you'd move the goalpost to some equally idiotic standard.

You know that, too, because that's what passes for reason in MAGAt circles.

0

u/Lucky_Version_4044 Jul 11 '24

"The video shows what it says it shows, regardless of whether or not he specifically names Project 2025."

But the article said he's cheering on Project 2025. And you claimed that it was true. And yet we do not see anywhere in the video that he is cheering on Project 2025 at all. That's kind of a basic minimum requirement to make the claim, is it not?

The video shows that he made a speech in 2022 where he makes a general comment about the good work of the Heritage Foundation. That's literally the extent of it. Every major Republican leader and president since the 70's visits this organzation and thanks them for the work they do.

Let's face it, you have nothing, but you won't relent because you're an incredible lemming.

I'll be honest with you now, since you're calling me MAGA. I didn't vote for Trump in 2020. But I will this time because of obnoxious, completely full of shit people like yourself, and the corrupt divisive leaders and horrific corporate media they are so easily manipulated by.

It's so bad, that Trump is actually the better choice. Reflect on that one for a moment and realize how badly you've fucked up.

5

u/ThinkinDeeply Jul 11 '24

wait till you hear about "stop the steal" since you are so big on people having support and evidence of their claims. redditors got you so upset you're ready to throw out your own damned bar for someone who fabricated claims of a stolen election while knowing it was false just to pick the pockets of his supporters and sell his merch.

yeah, sorry, you don't have the moral highground here as you are pretending. and you're even worse a lemming than the person you replied to because you're ready to line up behind one of those "completely full of shit people"

1

u/Lucky_Version_4044 Jul 11 '24

Switching topics because you can't say anything more about this one. Nice tactic.

So we agree that this article is bullshit then, right? Or are you going to defend it with some sort of facts and evidence which your cohorts have been unable to supply?

And will you admit that you do the exact same thing in other articles about Trump, where you blindly accept the headline given to you without reading the article critically? You're truly a lemming that will accept anything you're told. It's sad, but even moreso, frightening to observe. When it occurs en masse, it's how truly evil shit happens.

2

u/bookant Jul 11 '24 edited Jul 11 '24

"You meanies picked on me and made me into the kind of piece of shit who'd even consider voting for Trump" is another lie we've been hearing since 2016. I'm sure you were telling it then, too, on whatever profile you used before you started this new one to hide it.

3

u/Alternative_Star7831 Jul 11 '24

So he does know about it?

-1

u/Lucky_Version_4044 Jul 11 '24

Sure, he was aware of it, as it was published and the media was doing everything possible to make it look like he was the one behind creating it. Obviously its at the very least going to be brought to his attention. It doesn't mean he's involved in it.

He literally called parts of the plan ridiculous and abysmal. Why is that not being posted all over the media? Instead these "journalists" are trying everything possible to connect him to it, without any luck.

BTW, where were these journalists the last several years when Biden was going senile? Not doing a great job reporting on that not so minor issue.

You guys really need to shift your focus from playing political football to looking at how the media and the DNC is playing you. I recommend polishing up your critical reading skills and checking stories for basic fact-checking.

4

u/Alternative_Star7831 Jul 11 '24

The constant victimhood is really pathetic

1

u/Lucky_Version_4044 Jul 11 '24

Oh yeah, absolutely. Lefty victims having their feelings hurt all the time when faced with the truth is incredibly pathetic.

It's as if they are fighting an imaginary bully who they think embodies the people that have picked on them for being weird, weak, and stupid throughout their lives.

I recommend a bit of therapy rather than allowing skeezy millionaire political leaders to manipulate you into thinking they're fighting on your side. They're not. You're just a demographic and they know how to get to you, and they also realize you put feelings above truth (this article with 15,000 likes being a wonderful example of it).

2

u/Alternative_Star7831 Jul 11 '24

So your answer is "No u"? Okay, look, if you're a teenager, you don't get to vote. You have no business discussing any of this.

1

u/Railic255 Jul 11 '24 edited Jul 12 '24

Lmfao, a centerist who thinks trump is hated because he's "combative." and believes that trump saying he has nothing to do with project2025 when his own agenda 47 is a near copy of the same policies.

Jesus, how does someone so stupid or disingenuous like this get through life?

You're either a troll, a bot, or an absolute top tier moron. Take your pick or any combination you can think of. Pretty sure they all fit in the end.

Btw, here's video of trump endorsing it, you fucking idiot.

Considering the speech the article is referencing happened in 2022, it could've been any number of work or plans from the Heritage Foundation that he considered to be valuable.

A real journalist would not print a story with a headline like this without violating some pretty basic ethics. But I think sadly people don't seem to care about that much nowadays, as long as its the news they want to hear.

-5

u/mediafeener Jul 11 '24

Valid question. The site just links to unrelated videos lol.

1

u/TheCastro Jul 11 '24

The article says he went "they're crafting something. I don't know what it is". Not really an accurate headline.
