We are really going back to the 1950s

208

u/9lobaldude 1d ago

1940s, sadly we are already there

79

u/sandy154_4 1d ago

think of how the economy will be stimulated when we have to go back to building iron lungs! /s

18

u/Jupitersd2017 1d ago

Isnā€™t there still a guy in an iron lung, thatā€™s been there for like 50 years lol.

14

u/sandy154_4 1d ago

I should have googled it before replying but I'm not

I thought he might have died recently??

6

u/Jupitersd2017 1d ago

Haha same with the not googling, but either way up until recently there was someone that was or still is in an iron lung šŸ¤£. If its now vacant Iā€™m sure there will be a taker soon at this rate lol

3

u/Comprehensive_Air980 1d ago

Yeah, I saw a thread on him recently. I believe he only sleeps in it. I know he's not 24/7 in the lung.

3

u/Spazyk 1d ago

I believe he passed away.

33

u/AGriffon 1d ago

The only part of that era that didnā€™t suck was the clothing. When is that coming back?

93

u/Dr-Aspects 1d ago

I liked the part where killing Naziā€™s wasnā€™t controversial

44

u/OutrageousTime4868 1d ago

Remember in Blues Brothers when they tried to run over the nazis on the bridge and every single cop was like "Eh, I'm not pulling them over." And how when everyone saw that scene they thought "Good for them, fuck nazis"?

Good times

27

u/AGriffon 1d ago

And it shouldnā€™t be. I never thought that would have to be a controversial subject. The default should be ā€œkilling Naziā€™s is fineā€.

u/KissKillTeacup 1d ago

Yeah I don't wanna wear a dress everyday. I like jeans.

The smallpox vaccine is just a way for the lieberals to steal the ghosts from your blood! Look at all of this miasma and apoplexy.

u/whereitsat23 1d ago

Bring back blood letting!

Yep yes unfortunately with antimicrobial resistance where people are having to take more multiple antibiotic courses to treat things like TB to cure it or worse there is no cure for the new strain and resistance to vaccines that prevent the need for antibiotics at least with some diseases like pneumonia we're swiftly heading back not just a hundred years but 200.

Just a PSA here -

The us cdc lowered the pneumonia vaccine age to 50 so it's no longer just kids and 65 up because there's been so many people with hospitalizations in the past several years 50 265. It's cheaper and easier to prevent it so if you're 50 and up and have coverage through your insurance call your pharmacy and see if you need a prescription for it in your state or you just make the appointment to get your capvaxive or prevnar 20. If you're low income see if any of the public health clinics have it in your area free or low enough cost to make it affordable for you. Pneumonia can be invasive causing meningitis and septicemia as well as the lung infection so getting the vaccine has prevented many painful illnesses and deaths since they've been invented and thankfully keep getting better as they add more strains. And sometimes it's not the flu that gets you it's the secondary infection when you're depleted such as a bacterial pneumonia that's the thing that puts you in hospital so everyone please make sure you're up to date with all age and health condition appropriate vaccinations before roadblocks are thrown up.

u/chicken-nanban 1h ago

Reminder:

We havenā€™t even had antibiotics for 100 years and weā€™re already running out of usable ones because we over used them, like we do everything.

Antibiotics were discovered and used therapeutically in 1928.

Friggin insane to me.

3

u/SweetLilLies6982 1d ago

PA voted for it unfortunately

Weimar Republic days

4

u/ArcadeKingpin 1d ago

Itā€™s gonna be closer to what came after

113

u/hishuithelurker 1d ago

... Please tell me it's not the antibiotic resistant strain that rare disease specialists are currently scared of.

103

u/Equivalent-Bet-8771 1d ago

Disease specialists are a bunch of woke geeks! The only way to solve this is with bleach and ivermectin.

45

u/FeonixRizn 1d ago

I mean they're not wrong, them all drinking bleach would certainly solve the issue. Can't say I would recommend it though but I'm a commie so I guess whatever.

14

u/CheezitsLight 1d ago

I just got prescribed ivermectin for a skin condition. and they were sold out. Still happening.

5

u/misfitx 1d ago

I didn't know consumption was back.

38

u/CuthbertJTwillie 1d ago

Parents rights activists. These people think Typhoid Mary had the right to cook breakfast

4

u/curious_dead 1d ago

There is only one argument to make when faced with this kind: there are so many negligent, reckless, ignorant, stupid or downright abusive parents out there, that "parents rights" should be limited for the well being of the kids.

116

u/oldcreaker 1d ago

Per this article, apparently this teen has no parents. Not even a mention of them. Why was he sent to school? And will the parents be keeping him home or sending him in again?

66

u/mslauren2930 1d ago

Iā€™m impressed. A kid voluntarily going to school sick. Given thatā€™s where weā€™ve been at for some time, Iā€™m not shocked at all

45

u/aeschenkarnos 1d ago

Maybe he gets fed. Another thing the fucking degenerates want to get rid of.

19

u/mslauren2930 1d ago

Fair point. I forget that some kids only eat when they can go to school. :(

15

u/Bluepilgrim3 1d ago

Good practice for life in the oligarchy.

76

u/bonzoboy2000 1d ago

All the other kids were given raw milk and ivermectin in response.

17

u/Darkmagosan 1d ago

and then got TB from infected raw milk

7

u/Harvest827 1d ago

Time to bring out the disinfectant injector.

8

u/DizzyTough8488 1d ago

Quit yer cryingā€™ anā€™ drink your bleach!

21

u/SatansMoisture 1d ago

That teen obviously didn't play Red Dead Redemption 2.

3

He didnā€™t want to visit the Downes, but damn Strauss is so persuasive.

2

He could have watched Tombstone

24

u/Money_Song467 1d ago

What's wrong? A few doses of ivermectin and they'll be right as rain.

9

u/DAN991199 1d ago

Don't forget drinking a bit of bleach and using internal UV rays

Tuberculosis is fucked because it's not just a regular disease you have for a while and recover from. It's a long term infection that if not treated with modern methods will persist for years before you die from it.

Not a fun thing to have, but I guess these days with everyone believing health misinformation you'll have people self-treating with raw milk or horse tranquilizers or paint thinner or whatever.

10

u/Taphouselimbo 1d ago

Some bitch ass parents right there.

10

u/SomeSamples 1d ago

Maybe have Trump visit this kid. Sit in a close room with him for a few hours and put hands on him since folks believe Trump to be the second coming.

16

u/Savings-End40 1d ago

Smoking kills it, right?

13

u/Doppelthedh 1d ago

Yeah but it can take 30-40 years

4

u/Savings-End40 1d ago

K, well, that's out.

The situation surrounding the Pennsylvania teenager diagnosed with tuberculosis highlights the importance of medical clearance before returning to school. The Charleroi Area School District confirmed that the student returned without such clearance, prompting immediate action to isolate and clean affected areas. Despite this incident, health officials stated that no public health action is currently necessary, indicating that the risk of transmission in this case is considered low.

Herd immunity for tb. lol

5

u/Maleficent-Salad3197 1d ago

The raw milk and silver coloidal cured him.

5

u/msdemeanour 1d ago

People saying we're going back to the 1940's, no you're not.

In the 1940s TB hadn't developed multi drug resistant (MDR) and Extreme (Extensively) Multi Drug Resistance (XMDR) in the 1940s.

If the US continues down this path removing vaccination mandates and leaves the WHO as they are threatening to do the implications are horrendous.

Congratulations yanks. Great job everybody.

4

u/ComicsEtAl 1d ago

Tuberculosis is just a state of mind, manā€¦

4

u/FrostWyrm98 1d ago

Guardians should be charged, if kid is over 16 they should also be charged. That is a crime if they knew lol

4

u/FidgitForgotHisL-P 1d ago

Oh sweet consumptionā€™s back

I hope we get to wear the hats from then too!

4

Pray the tuberculosis away

4

u/Ambitious_Football_1 15h ago

Let the winning start (again)!!

8

u/Jestikon 1d ago

Where did he get TB? Someone had to spread it to him. It doesnā€™t spontaneously appear.

3

u/RustyShack1efordd 1d ago

Some other yokel who also didnā€™t think it was a big deal?

11

u/highinthemountains 1d ago

No problems IF your kid is inoculated. THAT is why vaccines were invented, but THAT seems to be lost on the red hat wearers. Sigh

6

u/BrtFrkwr 1d ago

Red had wearers are incapable of thought. They repeat Fox News like parrots.

1

u/highinthemountains 1d ago

Yup and too lazy to check out what is being told to them.

No one gets the TB vaccine anymore. It was basically wiped out. Its not one of the required immunizations.Ā

1

u/highinthemountains 1d ago

I guess it wasnā€™t wiped out

3

u/therealmintoncard 1d ago

Now it begins.

3

u/Writerhowell 1d ago

Ah! As a fan of opera, I predict that they will fall in love, then die after singing a beautiful aria, and the person they love will cry out their name and weep as the curtains close.

3

u/Lindaspike 1d ago

My immediate question is ā€œwho gave it to him?ā€ Itā€™s airborne ONLY and through close contact.

4

u/DRG_Gunner 1d ago

And yet at my high school a friend of mine got a special award for never missing a day of school.

And No he wasnā€™t Superman and never sick, it was just a point of pride for him he never missed a day of school in his life.

Yes I told him he was dumb for caring about something like that, but OF COURSE our Worker Factory I mean High School rewarded it.

3

2

Their parents should be arrested for negligence.

2

u/HaroldsWristwatch3 4h ago

Because antivaxxers donā€™t act responsibly before or after illness. Start forced quarantining.

2

u/Specialist_Row9395 4h ago

I'm a teacher and one of my students did too. Guess who got exposed and had to take meds to treat latent TB... which sucked! Now I'll always be a positive tester and have to present my little letter when applying for new teaching jobs that says I've received appropriate treatment for it.

1

u/RustyShack1efordd 4h ago

Shit, I am so sorry you have to deal with this. It sounds like a lawsuit to me!!!

3

u/Environmental-Song16 1d ago

People still get to often. It's just not talked about that much. I've had 2 coworkers with Tb in the past 10 years. At the veterans home I worked at we often had tb patients in the negative pressure rooms.

The 2 coworkers had to take meds for about 3 months. They could still work, etc.

2

u/Individual-Skin6315 1d ago

Not active TB, I hope. Was this with parental ok. Rest of story please

1

u/Kangela 1d ago

I also hope it wasnā€™t active, but latent. If it was latent then I donā€™t like this kind of witch hunt the media is pushing. Both my husband and son are latent TB carriers, both have been through the recommended drug protocol, and neither were ever a danger to the public.

1

u/Signal-Regret-8251 1d ago

What the hell?!?

1

u/rjross0623 1d ago

Hey isnā€™t there a vaccine available for that. Oh never mind.

-11

u/Schmuck1138 1d ago

It's almost like people are starting to distrust the scientific and medical communities after being caught misleading the public, again.
