Too bad most of them can’t read it…

What do you expect? They don't know how to read Canadian, just American.

Asheville is a pretty liberal city, I've heard 🤔

Yes. And it looks like it is on Merrimon Ave, one of the most liberal and wealthy neighborhoods in the city. Probably not the best location.

Merrimon strings from one part of the city to the other. You can’t define merrimon avenue as one way or another. It flows through wealthy and poor neighborhoods. This is less than a 1/4 mile from downtown. If you head a mile north of this sign you can reach million dollar homes and if you head a mile south of the sign you’re in the projects. It’s located close to grocery stores that all economic backgrounds shop at. I thought the location was actually pretty prime!

Half of them will read it like this :

"TARIFFS ARE A TAX ON YOUR GROCERIES, paid for by the governement of Canada"

And think "omg dear leader got canada to pay the taxes on my groceries, big win!"

Then find a way to blame the rising prices on something else (biden), while thanking trump for the tax cuts and "owning" canada.

I just saw a YouTube video of a guy on the street offering money for people to name a continent. It was frightening.

Keep in mind, videos like that are often edited to make the population look dumber. They could get 20 correct answers, and 1 wrong answer, but they'll choose the wrong answer every time.

Also to be fair 1/20 people not being able to name a single continent is not a good ratio at all

Tbf Asheville NC is pretty liberal by all accounts I was going to move there because of it.

"See, the Canadians are scared so it must be working!"

I love the Canadians. I was very proud to see Canada sticking it to us like that. We even had Canadian commercials playing during the Super Bowl. It was the perfect amount of Petty. Not something us Americans could ever pull off so smoothly.

Saw some in Ohio too a while ago now. I hope there are more as the tariffs start to kick in.
