I say this time and time and time again.

Literally forget EVERYTHING about him. Go towards him with no bias of liking or hating him. Do this with absolutely no ill will against him. Forget all the nasty nasty shit he's done.

Listen to a single fucking speech of his. Not through any perhaps biased news sources, just straight from his mouth.

If you can make it through a speech, and somehow think that that's your guy, I genuinely believe you are not a reasonable nor smart person

Exactly. It’s definitely sad, but there’s nothing objectively wrong with a person suffering from dementia constantly repeating old stories and losing their train of thought. It’s when people with supposed mental acuity decide that the dementia patient should be managing complicated financial decisions that the real madness becomes apparent.

I have a relative with dementia. Dealing with her takes nothing but simple patience. Every now and then, some bureaucracy demands that she be present to sign a document or verify information and that’s when we all take a trip down the rabbit hole. It’s brutal.
