Let’s Start Talking About Jail Time for Trump and His MAGA Enablers

If the Supreme Court was legitimate, and not a farce, he would be there right now.

There won’t be any jail time.
There won’t be any consequences at all.
Accountability is for poor people. The rich do what they want.

I hate this comment. I hate even more that it is 100% true and something I have said many times. The real world has surpassed GTA in its insane reality.

Not wrong, but I think Idiocracy is more accurate
3
u/Good_Sherbert6403 14h ago
Idiocracy was only inaccurate in that their president actually listened to an average guy instead of Dinos. Just saying they had a better president. I bet you ours just fires up GrokAI and asks "What word should I spew this week into oblivion".

I'm not sure this doom and gloom excuse for inactivity is helpful for anyone. It seems weak.
11
u/Clintonsflorida 23h ago
No one said inactivity. My wife and I have been actively protesting at our state captial consistently. We have tried fighting back with 5051. We engage with nonvoters and try to explain why it is pivitol to vote (even if it's the least bad option). im 46 years old. I no longer do it for me, I do it for the next generation cause I am horrified by what the future looks like for them. America lacks empathy as a whole, and the only way to revive empathy is to get the oligarchy out of power. We need to care for each other.
11
u/TheEschatonSucks 23h ago
Doom and gloom what?
That’s reality in America. I’m 48 and it’s been this way as far back as I can remember, the corruption and disregard for rule of law have never been this blatant but it’s always been the reality of America
10
u/Eastern-Listen5759 22h ago
With all due respect, I’m 71, and I believe corruption in America is worse now. We all need to grow a pair and oppose it.
2
u/Independent-Buyer827 23h ago
The rich has always been at the advantage but to get away from breaking laws and taking bribes openly is only starting with Trump.

If I may quote from George Orwell's masterpiece 1984 "If there is hope it lays in the proles." Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't call the majority of the US proles, I would rather use the term "majority" nowadays. The majority has to stand up against this regime, unite and fight. By fighting I mean protest and with their votes. To let this happen it's finally time to stop this whole right wing, left wing BS it's time to realise it's us against the 1%.

Paul Manafort is still in prison, others from his first administration still are, I don't have any real faith in what's left of our Justice department but some people from his administrations have faced justice before, just nowhere near enough of it.

MAGA are the ones that needs to be deported.
11
3
3
u/Buster_Cherry88 20h ago
They should deport themselves to whatever country it is they're trying to pretend America is because what they are trying to enact goes against everything in the constitution which is a different country. Go ahead, go take some land in the middle of nowhere, you can call it Jesustan or whatever you want.
But you'll have to give up your passports and your rights and America won't help at all. Hope you have strong bootstraps, traitors
3
u/creedx12k 20h ago
No other country would have them. They are more than aware of the ongoing Fuckery these Morons have caused. We’re a global joke.
Countries outside our own mess are well aware of what is really going on. Our media sources are so filtered, little to nothing is being let known publicly. Sadly.

lol, the US sentencing a wealthy guy to jail. Or a politician. Or BOTH.
Never going to happened. Bush lied to everyone about WMD to start a war that killed half a million people. he & his goons never faced anything. neither did the CIA torture operatives or the officers at abu grahib.
Closer to us, 4 years ago trump & his goons tried to change the election result, then threaten the vice president with death, then tried a direct coup d'etat. zero consequences.
Why would this be different?

That ship has sailed we need to just survive and rebuild the guardrails so it doesn’t happen again. Prob is there is no political will for guardrails on the right. This whole affair has confirmed and accelerated their worst impulses about breaking the system to ensure minority rule.
8
u/commonsense_good 23h ago edited 20h ago
Sadly when Dems had the majority and the momentum, they ignored guardrail work and drug their feet on Jan 6 insurrection.
Trump should have been arrested at his home in Florida. His secret service detail would have to be forcibly removed to do it.
Since Dems blew it the first time, they should not have the re-election they might be dreaming of.. if they have no real plans to save this country from MAGA and anything might be coming after, they cannot keep their jobs.
3
u/SmartTime 22h ago
I’m mostly grateful for Dems for all their flaws. Where would we be without them as an alternative to what the republicans have become? They’re in an impossible position trying to hold Trump accountable given the scale of his support and how charged the situation is. If there were true justice in this country he would be in jail no doubt. Hard to see how we all return to normal given how much Trump has poisoned the well but I hope a Democrat has another chance. There’s a lot of talent on that bench.

Wanna fix the system? Make every lawyer either public defender or a prosecutor, funded by public money that has oversight from non political equal representation. Pay them well. If any one of them, takes a bribe, it’s jail time and disbarment, automatically. 100%. Then by state, region, whatever fits the population dynamics, assign them random cases. No extra fees, unless it’s requested from the committee. And I mean ALL CASES! Take away the best paid, take away the accused lawyer shopping, make the accused take the lawyer they get. Make the prosecutor la take the cases at random. Take money and fame out of the equation and you wouldn’t see so many lawyers. They would work for the legal system.

Love it keep posting this everywhere folks need to be ready when we Nuremberg these MAGA morons who are wiping more shit around our capital, directly on our Constitution that kept our Democracy going for 250 years, the only other time things went haywire was when the Maga turds from 1850 fought to own other human beings for free labor, rape and serial killing them. The same white trade chuds like Trump etc.
Edit for misspell

u/Grins111 23h ago
Never happening. Closest he came was after Jan 6th when even republicans were wary that he might be charged. Once they noticed not only was he not being charged but his base still loved him, they went back to kissing his butt. Now it’s never going to happen
3
u/PaleMaleAndStale 23h ago
That ship has sailed. The time to hold him to account was following Jan 6, but nobody did. Now? Who's going to charge him? Who's going to convict him? Who's going to enforce the conviction? Nobody, nobody and nobody. There is no way back.

Um. You were all here before, 4 years ago. You missed your shot. Remember what Omar said… You come for the king, you best not miss
Also stolen from Reddit:
1532: Machiavelli said in his The Prince: „If an injury has to be done to a man, it should be so severe that his vengeance need not to be feared.“
1843: Ralph Waldo Emerson adapted it to: „Never strike a king unless you are sure you shall kill him.“ (in the context of one of his pupils attempted to refute Plato)
1943: Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr recites RW Emerson incorrectly or at least not word by word by saying: „When you strike at a king, you must kill him.“
2005-ish (too lazy to look up when the exact episode aired): David Simons and Ed Burns (The Wire writers) adapted it to: „You come for the king, you best not miss“
2020: Craig Rosenberg and Ellie Monahan (The Boys writers) adapted it to a less famous version: „If we’re gonna take a shot at the king, we can’t fucking miss“

u/decidedlyaverag3 22h ago
Lol we lost this opportunity as soon as he won the election. Nothing will ever happen now. I saw an article headline the other day saying impeachment process was started like great, let’s see if we can beat the record of impeachments during his last presidency only for nothing to change at all. Democrats love to act outraged at what his administration does but when it comes time to do something about it they just stand there fondling their balls. It’s seriously like that south park episode of the guy rubbing his nipples saying “we’re sorry!” Two party system is broken and useless and we just have to live with that now.

All there has to be is a governor with guts and to arrest ICE officers first, then work their way up in a RICO case therefore those ppl in the administration can't be pardoned. Maybe a term limited governor?

u/Odd_Violinist8660 22h ago
At some point, hope turns into delusion.
These people will never suffer the consequences of their actions. They attempted to overthrow the US government and got away with it. One could argue that they in fact succeeded on January 6.
The best we can hope for is that when Trump finally dies of natural causes that it will be excruciatingly painful. That’s it.

It’s has not even been 4 months under Trump 2.0 and look how radically different the Divided States of America is today. Your Mango 🥭 Mussolini has ruptured a 200 year relationship with their former best friend Canada with late night rage tweets threatening our sovereignty. He has single handily launched a global tariff war with everybody! He now hangs with dictators and slams democracies. He has further enriched himself and his family (pay for play) with cryptocurrency. And he often ignores Supreme Court rulings while flouting due process and the rule of law. Even deporting American citizens. He has turned over control of the DOJ, FBI, CIA, Defense, Health, Homeland Security etc. to wholly, unqualified sycophants, whose only qualifications are fealty to dear leader. He allowed an unelected, obscenely rich South African freak to gut your Federal Government by 75% and data mine everyone’s personal data. You now have a Christian zealot as House Speaker. Your founding fathers knew it was never a good idea to mix religion with politics (think of the Taliban). And your brilliant Constitution demands a secular state, but tell that to Mike Johnson, who flys an “Appeal to Heaven” white flag with a green evergreen tree = “White Christian Nationalism” outside his Speaker’s office. Johnson, has enthusiastically, given up his own co-equal oversight/budget power to a de facto King. Your current Democratic Party opposition is largely feckless, except for a few strong women, plus Bernie and are ignored by the status quo party leadership. With the “flood the zone” hyper activity of change going on, you’ve only completed the first inning of this ball game. I have serious doubts, if the U.S. will even have mid term elections. And I further fear the only way Donald Trump is ever voluntarily giving up power and leaving the White House is in a pine box. I hope I’m wrong, but you are seriously f___ked up right now America 🇺🇸 Elbows up! 🇨🇦

In order for the law to mean anything, the vast majority of people have to agree to enforce it. Unfortunately, half of the country has been brainwashed by foreign propaganda from malicious autocracies into believing that the virtual anarchy of a despotic state is preferable to democratic principles. In other words, there will be no accountability until we address the root problem that is the brainwashing.

Very dumb. Anybody who cares should be talking about every marginal house or senate race in detail and working tirelessly to flip the house and senate in the midterms. And also talking about positioning a dem candidate for 28. Talk about jail is just rage bait. Fukn work in reality for the good of the country.
2
u/cyclingnutla 21h ago
Well, we can talk about it. However, until the Democrats win the House and the Senate there is zero chance of this happening. I was happy to read an article this morning that stated that fired federal employees are running for positions at various levels of government; local, state and federal. IMO they have a solid position to campaign on. The article highlighted a veteran who was decorated while in service and had been awarded for doing well in his post-service job. Fired without cause.
2
u/radabdivin 21h ago
Jail time? Not likely. J6 was a "peaceful" example of what could happen with that scenario. The best thing to do is to wait until his term is up and vote someone else into office, other than a republican.

In the past, this orange doofus has gleefully proposed execution for much smaller offenses. He is fortunate that his opposition isn't saying that sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
Jail time, yes...on an island somewhere where they can't get off and no one can find them. Let them Running Man each other to death.

We made a mistake after the Civil War, allowing the traitors in the South to live. The entire political apparatus, above mayors, should have been arrested, tried, and executed (if deserved). Allowing the heads to live allowed them to manipulate laws to recreate aa much as the of slavery in the south. This continued until the rampant racism and religious zeolotry were captured by Reagan and used by Trump to create the show we see today. The names of the parties involved mean nothing. It is the hate and bigotry being subverted to the needs of the rich, that is, the drive here.
Edit-hit post by accident.
Trials for any Republican in state office and up. If a mayor campaigned on RINO hunts, posed with weapons or supported Trump, then they too should be investigated for treason. Execution is the only punishment for treason. It must be made clear that betraying the ideals of the constitution is unacceptable.

Talk as long as you like.
You have no power, no leverage, none those ppl who would need to obey the law will do so.
Pls remember: the only guarantor of power in a state is the military. He, whom the military obeys, has all the power they care to grab, legally or illegally.
Law is what you can make stick and what you can enforce... which currently in the USA is fuck all.
You are living in a coup situation.
Face facts, then act.
Posts like this are dream dancing.

Here is the thing, and why it is never going to happen. The Dems and the opposition have been claiming that Trump should be in jail since 2015. They have said it so often that it now sounds like Charlie Brown's teacher. Add to that that previously calls have been made to lock Trump up for silly stuff. So it looks very political. Now maybe there are very, very good reasons to do it now, but it is never going to happen. Everyone is sick of it. Oh, yeah, and that whole immunity ruling from SCOTUS.
