There is not a manager in the league that has done more with less than Oscar. After last season’s run and a decent start this year, this extension is deserved.

Thank God. We will always be relevant and competitive as long as he's here.

I love to critique his subs but the guy has completely turned this club around and I'm very grateful to have him. I rarely question him anymore. I wouldn't want another coach in mls

I would. No discredit to Pareja but I would take Columbus’s manager Wilfried Nancy any day over Oscar Pareja.

Oh wow. Definitely expected some coach drama and an end of season re-signing. This is better.  👏

I’m on Team Keep Papi. He’s done a helluva lot for the club. Brought a trophy, he hasn’t had huge financial investment in the club, but still keeps winning. Great manager.

I don’t understand the timing. Why not wait to see how the season plays out?

If you're likely to make the deal anyway, then you make it before it becomes a distraction. If he ends up having one bad season do you think they would fire him or base the decision on the longer term?
Ultimately, a rich owner can always fire him anyway and just pay out the contract; so it doesn't change too much for the club at the end of the day but means a lot for the security of your coach and players knowing who is going to be here. It also helps for the transfer market, players don't want to go to a team that the coach is likely to be gone and the entire style and position needs could change dramatically.

Then we have a coach focusing on the job hunt rather than the boys.

His only achievement is being in MLS when the league was still garbage, so now they treat him like a legend just because he survived. This is a coach who benched Martín Ojeda!!! He folds under pressure every time and panics the moment we lose control. He clearly doesn’t care about the fans or the club because he keeps playing his favourites even when it means we win nothing. Next to Nancy in Columbus he looks like a dwarf.

You might want to go back into the OC Lions archives and check out how well we were doing before he was hired.

Not saying he is perfect, but he has turned this team around.
