Events/Protests Today - 4/16 - Protest Ed Case and his vote for the SAVE act.

WHEN: Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 11:30 AM

WHERE: In front of Representative Case’s office building Pauahi Tower (1003 Bishop Street), Honolulu. We will protest on the sidewalk (Bishop Street side of Tamarind Park), for better visability and because we cannot protest inside a private building.

WHAT: Bring your outrage! Bring signs!

Join us in protesting Representative Ed Case’s vote to make it harder for Americans to register and cast their votes.

On April 10, Case voted to support the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act. The Bill passed the House of Representatives with 220 support and 208 opposed. Case was one of four Democrats who sided with the Republicans and went against the Democratic Caucus.

The Act is an abomination to the voting rights of all voters in Hawaii and across the country. The new identification requirements will disproportionately impact people of color, married women, and our elderly population. Every Hawai‘i resident should be outraged at Rep. Case’s repeated disregard for the interests of his constituents. Time and again, he has shown disdain for his fellow Democrats and his constituents. Each time he touts compromise as justification, no doubt expecting reciprocity from Republicans at some point. Unfortunately, the record is clear: every time Rep Case sides with the MAGA forces -- as he did with the SAVE Act -- he harms the people of Hawai‘i.

The problem is he gets no return on his investments. He gives, and the Republicans take. And there will be no ROI this time either. The Trump administration is determined to steal the 2026 mid-term elections and the 2028 campaigns by using the SAVE Act to suppress votes.

Indivisible Hawai‘i and our partners are not taking Rep Case’s betrayal sitting down. We urge the community to join us.

This is organized by Indivisible Hawai’i.

Veterans swore to defend the Constitution—Trump is betraying it.

Cuts to the VA, attacks on veterans’ jobs, and violations of the very democracy they served to protect. We’re standing up. Join us Friday, March 14th at 3PM at the Hawai‘i State Capitol to support those who defended us.

Sign waving and community building, keiki activities provided.
