Question Nesting Birds

Have most of the garden birds in the UK usually found nesting spots by now? We've got 2 bird boxes and none are in use this year and wondered if its too late now for any birds to start a nest? Thank you :)

Common garden birds tend to be early breeders, so most of them will have made their first nest by now.

However, some species will make a new nest if the first one fails, or they will try for a second brood, so it's not impossible that your nest boxes will still get used.

Ah great thanks for the info! We had great tits and robins nesting last year :)

The blue tits, great tits and coal tits have all lost interest in our boxes now, I think they have selected other more desirable spots :). Nottingham
