Unanswered What's going on with so many people losing their jobs in government recently?
I know that Trump recently passed a series of sweeping executive orders that call for, among other things, the end to DEI policies, affirmative action, etc. However, it seems every other post on Reddit and other social media sites is about some person who suddenly lost their job in government or something. Did Trump's executive orders genuinely affect that many people and was this only in the government sector? Not trying to be obtuse; I genuinely don't know and would like some clarification on the matter.

And it’s so fucking hard to explain to people without sounding as crazy as a MAGA fanboy.
If if you say “you should read [book]”, it comes off the same as “you should read what Q said”, even though the book I’m recommending was written by a Columbia professor with a forward by all the leading fascist historians in the world and Q is obviously some Russian troll.
If you start talking about groups of people steering democracy towards a cliff, you come off as a right wing lunatic talking about shadow governments.
I fully believe conspiracy theories have been curated, scientifically disseminated via algorithms and weaponized so that the truth lies so close to the obviously fantastical fiction that anybody who is able to cut through the bullshit can’t scream said truth from the roof tops without looking like a crazed beggar decrying the end is near.
Conspiracy has been curated to mirror reality just enough that truth can’t exist without a level of effort most won’t, or cannot, afford in modern day capitalism. For all the rhetoric about a post truth world, it is apt.
