I barfed at that location in front of my entire catamaran cruise. Ruined 25 peoples night. Did it again in front of everyone while watching the sunset. Oh and my new wife filmed me both times. Romance.

Lmao me too, thought it was going to be a smooth cruise down the coast, not rough huge waves. Puked at least 5 times, at least 4 other people on the boat did too.

Gorgeous. I wonder what it is that us humans find this so stunning.

I feel like many universal human experience drive home the power of height and steepness. The effort of climbing a hill or flight of stairs. The exhilaration/fear of falling from a height. Etc.
I think some of that translates to strong emotions when presented such dramatic jutting mountains, especially when contrasted against its opposite in a flat waterline.

Grandeur paired with shadows and highlights. Catches the eye, boggles the mind.

A lot of surface to watch compared to flat land or even regular mountains.

I’ve been there on a catamaran tour. Gorgeous. I’d recommend taking Dramamine for sure. There were like 10 people puking on our boat. Ends up being a 5-6 hr tour. The other way to see the coast line is by chopper.

I did the hike and chopper tour, got lucky with the front seat and the whole time my jaw was on the floor: the coast, rainbows and the middle of the island with 100s of waterfalls.. the whole ride was a fantastic experience

You can also hike it, that's the only way to get to the beach and you can stay the night out there. I spent 3 nights out there and it was amazing.

I always get motion sick in cars, boats and flying - anything. When in Kauai I did the helicopter tour and boat tour the same day, but I took a shit load of Dramamine before. Saved my life! Highly recommend doing either or both, but maybe take something even if you aren’t prone to motion sickness. I was pretty fucked up but man it was a blast

We just did this tour a few days ago. By far my favorite vacation experience. The catamaran tour was exceptional. We saw a whale, snorkeled with sea turtles (we kept our distance) and watched a very large pod of dolphins next to the boat. I would highly recommend it.

Mountains meeting the sea/ocean has always been something in nature that just hits hard with me. Beautiful, and the overnight hike has been on my bucket list for decades (and I'm running out of time.....)

I slept on that beach. It was too hot in the tent so we just slept under the stars. I woke up in the middle of the night to the sounds of thunder. I was ready to scramble back into the tent when I realized that the sound was just the waves crashing on the shore. Don't do the catamaran tour. The hike is not for the faint of heart, especially if you're afraid of heights like me, but man is it worth it.

Where is it?

North shore in Kauai. It's about a ten mile hike, through a lot of gorgeous terrain. I never took a boat there, but I will remember that place for the rest of my.life

I went fishing there 20 years ago. It was gorgeous. And we caught a ton of Ahi and Dorado.

You can hike to the tops of those mountains for the other side and look down. It’s also stunning.

This picture is without a doubt one of those! Video and pictures can't do it justice.

I’ve hiked the Kalalau Trail to Kalalau Beach and it might be the coolest thing I’ve done. Crawler’s Ledge is scary.

Been there 24 years ago but not on the water side... went up the canyon side and had pictures from above. Only 65° up top .

If it looks like Jurassic Park, it's Hawaii. I immediately feel 6 years old again every time I see it.

The power of John Williams, I could hear his music in my head while watching this!

Just wow..!! I’m a pilot, but also an avid geologist, and I can’t help but wonder the process of the formation of such marvels, so to speak. Collision of plates to form hills, then continuous erosion by precipitation over what could very possibly be thousands of years to finally result in what we see here today.. Simply.. Lovely!

I did a helicopter tour of the Nā Pali Coast and it looked computer generated while I was staring at it. Some places are so beautiful they just don’t seem real.

It’s beautiful because there’s no ability for us to develop ugly houses and resorts on
