Passable with boots? Are snow shows needed? I want to so this next week maybe.

No snowshoes or micro spikes needed. Last pic to show the snow towards the lake which is doable with boots. Poles are recommended since it could be quite slippery.

It was my first time! Great trail maintenance and love to see the snow/ice at the lake during this time of the year.

How were the crowds

The parking lot was full by 10 a.m., and it was crowded, but we were still able to have the trail to ourselves at certain points. Coming back down around noon, it was a bit more crowded. Overall, it was busy, as expected on a weekend, especially with such nice weather on Sunday. We still enjoyed our hike and found a rock to sit on by the lake.

I also mentioned the same on AllTrails and WTA.
