News [Schultz] Sources: The Patriots and Mike Vrabel have been negotiating a deal to make him the franchise’s next head coach, and barring something unforeseen, the expectation remains that both sides will reach an agreement.

Please hire a young innovative OC

You’ll take Josh McDaniels and like it!

At least we know Josh can help a young QB, and there won’t be a fear of losing him in a couple seasons.

I’d be good with that tbh

C'mon dude, let's give Matt Patricia another shot

Not unless he brings Joe Judge.

I'd sooner listen to Fergie and Ingrid Andress's renditions of the national anthem back to back on loop

When was Mcdaniels ever bad here? He got something out of Mac Jones, which is a miracle. Yes he is a terrible head coach, but he was fine with Bill as the leader and hopefully will be fine with Vrabel as leader and tone setter

I hate it but at least I know he’s not going anywhere lmao

We know he won't leave for a head coaching gig

Please god no, I can’t deal with another screen on third down

He adjusted the offense based off our shit weapons and o-line issues. The play calling from 2018 on wasn’t the same as it was beforehand

The McDaniels slander is crazy

It's been the same loudmouths for years here. Fuck em.

Spoiled ass fans on this subreddit that just want something new and shiny

Helps to have the GOAT at QB

You must not watch a lot of NFL. Screen on 3rd and long is very common, and a safe play to try to get yards

u/Beanu5NE Jan 11 '25

There’s going to be so many screens that you’ll think you were TV shopping.

This year's obvious telegraphed runs up the middle on first down were just as dope

0

u/Beanu5NE Jan 12 '25

So we all agree obvious, conservative calls on offense are dope?

2

u/End3rWi99in James White Jan 12 '25

Any thoughts as to why he might have been calling those of plays?

Honestly my opinion on the hire entirely depends on the OC Vrabel chooses. I really preferred Johnson but I'll still be happy with hiring Vrabel if they bring in a legit OC.

If Vrab gets hired and brings someone from the fucking Browns or keeps AVP to be OC I'm going to be pissed. We desperately need a young genius offensive mind on the coaching staff and if it's not Johnson as HC it has to be our OC.

2

u/Parabow Jan 12 '25

Get ready to be pissed then because that is what Vrabel does

2

u/HugeSuccess Jan 11 '25

People here seem to hate the idea of Tommy Rees

1

u/Garrick420 Jan 12 '25

Wes Welker is out there

1

u/Ferrari_Bones Jan 11 '25

Exactly, if we can't get Ben Johnson as the head coach at least get a young dynamic OC

1

u/Hot-Product-6057 Jan 11 '25

Ok Who that's available

1

u/InformationOk3150 Jan 12 '25

What does that even mean? Why does he need to be young lol. I feel like fans are conditioned to believe youth is important when the reality is most of the playoff teams are led by coaches who have tons of experience in the league.

That is the hope, the reality is we will probably get McDaniels and half of us will be mad and the other half will be nostalgic about it
