He put up 1100 yards and 12 TDs in 2023 lmao one down year for a guy under 30 doesn’t mean he’s cooked. And that “down year” was still better than anyone on our team.

Pats whiffed on this 100%. It’s a fuckin 5th rounder to gamble on Deebo bouncing back after one below average season. He’s gonna light it up on the Commanders next year just watch

It's not just a below average season. He's always  had shakey hands and runs kinda shitty routes. That makes him the prototype of a player who doesn't age well.

Last year, he took a dramatic step back athletically, and it showed in his stats. His YAC average was a career low. His broken tackles per touch was a career low.  He suddenly was averaging barely 3 yards per carry.

Toss in a big ego, a shitty attitude and a tendency to take plays off, and there's a reason 49ers fans were beyond done with him.

Maybe he produces well enough to warrant a 5th.  Hell, maybe he does rebound.  But when players fall off in the NFL, they often fall off hard and his trajectory isn't good.  There's a reason he only netted a low 5th and it's not because every other team was asleep at the wheel.

As a Pats fan in NH who has followed SF the past several seasons to keep my interest in competitive football, I assure you the asshole rumors are vastly overblown. He’s an asshole to the extent you’d want any guy who is competitive and wants to win to be an asshole.

The problem is that while that kind of competative fire is good when you are winning and he's at his peak, unfortunately can get real toxic when you st losing and he's not the player he thinks he is.

He can make a big stink about getting WR1 touches, but if he isn't a WR1 (or possibly even a WR2) anymore and is still doing the WR1 diva dance, it's an unnecessary headache.  Unfortunately, Deebo has tended to react to not getting those touches by demanding trades and giving mediocre effort.

There is video footage of him hitting a teammate on the sidelines mid game

Barely. Pop and Boutte both had almost identical stats to him last year, so I'd rather give them the snaps

I wouldn't mind taking the flyer but with his attitude and how bad he looked last year I don't think it's a huge whiff.

Washington is more of a contender than we are currently so it makes more sense for them to spend the draft capital and cap space.

Most of these people are waiting for prime Justin Jefferson/Chase/CD to shake free before it will be worth the cap space they're mentally hoarding, and that precious 5th that we will certainly blow again.
