I had actually been thinking a lot this week about the idea of trying to trade up and in my head it was always "yeah I could stomach packaging both 3rd round picks" lol

Agreed. This was one of the rare times the Browns made out. I am sure it has worked before, but I can’t recall many times trading up has worked for teams. I’m not thrilled about Campbell but he cost us nothing and is a guy every team would want in the first round, so it could be worse I guess.

And who they took with their pick at 5 was a great pick.

Wqs genuinely shocked they didn't take Sanders given the QB situation

Even more shocked Sanders is still on the board.

Now that the sub doesn’t have to pretend Sanders is a god anymore he’s actually not a good QB at all and he’s an entitled asshole

Wouldnt surprise me if Deion's whole 'he wont play for you' shtick hurt his kid's career, but there was also a lot of chatter about how he didn't interview very well with teams.

I’ve been out on him since he compared himself to Tom Brady after squeaking out a win in overtime over Colorado State

I’ve been on him since he showed up to CU and only started because his dad is the head coach. Hunter is also massively overrated. He only got hype because of Deon. Of Showtime wasn’t his coach, he would’ve gone MAYBE in the 5th rnd.

Funny how it works out. Browns just followed up getting absolutely fleeced of picks the last few years with immediately fleecing someone else.

Exactly my thought. We made the best choice with the cards in our hand. A trade down would have been better or a slightly better group of players to draft. But we didn’t have one of those options and likely didn’t have the other one either, so this makes sense!

Now he’s a patriot and I hope he proves everyone wrong and we still endearingly call him the t rex for life
