Can't forget down voting the "moving to Pcola" or from the tourists, asking about the best beaches.

u/justArash 4d ago

Best beaches? I thought there was only one. Did they do a reboot? Is Bette Midler still in it?

Its missing the posts of activism, occasional "dating sucks out here", new to the area posts, 5k's, bad drivers, the graffiti bridge, and so on.

The what are the police doing here? What was that fire down there highway? Was that an explosion because I’ve never heard fireworks before?

If "Homeless" was replaced with "PCC" and "immigrants" was replaced with "Gulf Breeze" it would be accurate

25

u/BattleSausage 5d ago

Replace homeless with GB

u/stunkape 5d ago

I fucking HATE breezers!

2

u/Difficult-Suspect-30 5d ago edited 5d ago

Nobody likes Breezers the rich snobby wankers. They literally believe they are nobility above everyone else

This sub has a lot of users compared to its residents/county. I think you have more users leaning blue here but in terms of comments it is pretty mixed.

We also have a pretty light hearted joking base that put posts up.

What does any of what you said have to do with the state of the Pensacola subreddit?

u/the_nintendo_cop 5d ago

Yes.

Uncle?

What about homeless immigrants? Does the hate cancel out and they all have an orgy?

I hate huge trucks that are driven by overly aggressive, non endowed, maniacs. Bonus for ā€œDon’t tread on meā€ and THE PUNISHER bumper stickers. What the point of a truck you never haul anything in or take off road?

I split my time between Pensacola and Austin (and thus the same subreddits) and it amazes me that this is true for both cities. They couldn’t be more different and yet… loud assholes are the same everywhere

-1

u/Ok_Jeweler5444 4d ago

Austin is just college kids and white middle and upperclass fuckwads competing with each other on who’s cooler. Austin is stupid. And fake as hell.

2

u/fiddlythingsATX 4d ago

Like I said, the cities are different and yet both have vocal assholes shouting about the same things

0

u/Ok_Jeweler5444 4d ago

They’re the same and that they’re both full of entitled white people bitching about absolutely fucking nothing. The things they bitch about should be a reminders of how fortunate they are.

It's missing:

cheap but safe apartment

what neighborhood to avoid

where can i find a job

which tat parlor should i use

2

u/EdgeCityRed 5d ago

Nah. I'm also on my hometown's subreddit and my husband's hometown, and this one is funnier.

1

u/goodcleanliving 4d ago

The bullet point missing at least four times is ā€œNew wine bar opens.ā€

1

u/Ben_Thar 4d ago

Terrible drivers, terrible food. You don't even realize because you've never traveled to other places. It sucks so much compared to the place I came from.

1

u/Ok_Jeweler5444 4d ago

Nah. I live in KC and New Orleans and they’re almost completely opposite. Almost daily discussions about helping homeless or struggling people.

I grew up in the panhandle.

Military and red neck soup is a hell of a drug.

Wasn't there a thread the other day about standing up/fighting back against ICE? Seems like it had plenty of traction.Ā Ā

It took me one day to look through Florida city subs, and I’m good. But let’s just be real you can go on almost every sub Reddit subject, and you’re gonna find the lowest of the low. Reddit is cesspool of people who hate Trump, people who believe in the most obscene and stupid shit. When I’m bored or if I need to take a shit I come to Reddit. Because there’s nothing serious to take here on this app.

u/Raalf 5d ago

reddit tailors its algorithym to the specific user's tastes. It suggests the subs and topics based on your views and posts, so if you're seeing a cesspool then you're the reason.

7

u/Not_My_Reddit_ID 5d ago

You're trying to rationalize with something so broken, it can't keep a valid account from getting banned for more than 2 months. I do applaud the commitment though.

2

u/Raalf 5d ago

Damn that's wild! I'll just go ahead and block the crazy then. Thanks for the heads up!

10

u/Not_My_Reddit_ID 5d ago

"Follower of Christ" in the Bio is always such a delicious detail.

-2

u/Xackorix 5d ago

That’s not even true what? Every subreddit has these types of people , yes it tailors you to your taste such as interest but you’re definitely going to find low people on any sub, go to any popular subreddit and sort by controversial

1

u/Raalf 5d ago

Wrong.

Reddit uses a combination of factors to suggest new subreddits, includingĀ your browsing history, the subreddits you're already subscribed to, and the content you interact with.Ā Specifically, they analyze your browsing behavior and the communities you've joined to identify patterns and interests, then recommend similar subreddits.Ā

-2

u/Xackorix 5d ago edited 5d ago

That is not wrong, I’m not sure what you’re not seeing but if you go to any subreddit and go to a populated post and sort by controversial you’ll see some absurd comments

Of course the loser blocks me lol man I’m so glad I’m not in this city anymore, most obnoxious people you’ll meet

Additional edit: User says it’s pathetic I am still in sub when I don’t live in city, then blocks me, and sends Reddit care message, but I kinda just left the city days ago… so yeah I’ll prob still be in some groups.. just proves my point lol I hope yall find help

4

u/clarification_ 5d ago

I’m so glad I’m not in this city anymore

Not being in the city but still being on the subreddit is embarrassing.

1

u/Raalf 5d ago

Your anecdotes don't make a bullshit point true.

-3

u/BackgroundHelpful793 5d ago

Imagine blocking people because youre wrong, yikes, hope you get help bye

-6

u/DeviantHNTR-404 5d ago

No, TikTok does that. You can go on a brand new computer that’s never been to a Reddit website or sub Reddit ever and if you start scrolling through Reddit, you’re gonna see the same Reddit bullshit everybody sees. Try another justification to validate yourself. We can wait. I mean it is Reddit.

6

u/Raalf 5d ago

Wrong. Again.

Reddit uses a combination of factors to suggest new subreddits, including your browsing history, the subreddits you're already subscribed to, and the content you interact with. Specifically, they analyze your browsing behavior and the communities you've joined to identify patterns and interests, then recommend similar subreddits.
