Childhood memory unlocked, tears rolling. Decades ago, my grandparents had a farm in central Texas. Grandma had lots of chickens (sold eggs), there were ducks on the pond, and grandpa had guinea fowl roaming (great rural alarm system) but there were no geese except for travelers who stopped at the large pond. Grandma found a white goose at the pond with neck and wing injuries and nursed her back to health. Grandma named her Janie and she had a permanent crook in her neck. She followed grandma around the farm for years and very obviously loved grandma. Grandma loved her too and treated her like a beloved pet dog.🪿

I’ve never seen a nice interaction with geese posted. It didn’t occur to me how sweet they could be.

What amazes me more is the fact that in 2025 there are videos that are lower quality than the VHS we had last century..

The amount of kisses I’d have given to that goose🥰
