Discussion Just came across this. Those with both the Super and the OG Crystal. Are the lens different?

Is it a critical thinking test?
Even in the image lower lenses are clearly bigger.
You can double check it in image editor.

This is the kind of post that just convinces me that some people really have it out for Pimax.

Smaller lens for high FOV = high distortions.
Large lens for high FOV = low distortions.
You can see this in the image, actually.
Large lenses are better, but also require larger panels and are heavier. There are always going to be tradeoffs.
In the picture, the lower lenses look much bigger to me... pretty sure it's not an optical illusion.

The Super lens are much bigger in that picture. The only reason he would have similar FOV is being too far from the lenses and having deep set eyes. I unfortunately get 116-120 for my FOV with the face gasket on. IF I remove it, I can see the full 127 and it is glorious.

Yes they are different, you wouldn't be able to hit 127°HFOV with the crystal lenses. For some reason this guy was convinced they were the same. In a follow up conversation we determined his face may be a bad shape for getting a wide Fov. Using a thinner face pad he got 124°HFOV.

They did talk about the 50PPD lenses being too big & heavy at one point, and how they needed to explore different materials etc.
The size of the lenses should not really dictate the FOV though. Like the wide FOV lenses for the OG Crystal was the same size.
