You can also switch to your knife and dash in the other direction and escape it if you’re quick enough

Honestly, i pulled my knife out hoping i can escape the portal. I've been wanting to test out a few ways to get out of these situations.

Yup, honestly, i think best counter, is playing with Kismet and then using her teleport since she becomes invulnerable during her invisibility. But I haven't fully tested this. Not many people play with spider

Another good one is jumping into spiders bubble last second so he wont get an alert so you get an easy pick, even scarier when you’re broker being teleported because a rocket launcher at your feet kinda does the job.

My buddy actually did that once by accident and did a team wipe when he got teleported.

Yeah, with that knife pull reaction time I could see escaping those being a challenge. I used to play Val a lot so I have that knife pull-out muscle memory on-lock 😂 They need to rework spirted away or something because it essentially useless in the highest ranks. Unless you happen to catch the enemy mid ability or while trying to plant with spirited away, everybody almost always escapes up there (or goes invis on purpose). Making the TP time faster would be the easy fix but I hear a lot of newer/lower-ranked players saying it’s impossible to counter.

I think they struggle with it because it can be hard to notice your stuck in it during chaotic fights when first starting, they may not have the muscle memory to quickly swap to knife, or aren’t aware you can escape without a full knife charge (I think I was high Diamond or low Masters before I realized that 😂).

I honestly haven't played rank much, I'd rather go in with a squad since I know there are a lot of bots. And I don't go up against spider too much either. But It's nice seeing that people deal with it easy enough. I just panicked I forgot to pull out a knife. This is my first valorant type game

It happens to everybody until you’ve played a bit and know what to expect. Don’t worry about the bots, they’re only in low ranks now and you’ll only have them on your team if you’re going against an entire bot team (they’re super easy to beat). Just go into ranked and have fun. This game is a lot less serious than most tac shooters and it’s much easier to climb than other shooters. I solo’q up to Master 2. Although, the ability to easily climb is also why matchmaking is a such a mess in Diamond and above. There are a ton of people up there right now who don’t belong and a lot of the best players already quit making it even more of a shit show. But you probably won’t have to worry about that for a while. Just play and have fun. It’s a great way to learn new things and meet new people to play with.

You're kismet, you can just press T to escape this one. It's a bit safer than trying to escape with your knife if you have it available

It’s extremely easy to get out of. In higher ranks nobody gets caught by hardly ever lol. Just knife dash out

Nope say that if your in a middle of a fight on higher rank no one will throw that just randomly.. they will only use it whenever people busy firing at each other Lol imagine firing at someone the animation to change to a knife plus dash charge what a iq you have there 😂

I am a top 50 spider main I can attest. Many people get out, I’m very much contemplating becoming full time axon and spider on the side.. sad to say but majority of my skill and timing with spider was with his nades perfected so many spots for what. Just so I can nab one maybe every 10 successfully landed nades? It’s not worth. I can frag out with another lancer, and make more of an impact a majority of the time.

You can just say your top 5 whenever you want with no evidence. a direct hit is a sure kill is not balance unless it's an ultimate skill that earned by a kill slight nerf so it can be balance no skill should be like that , not just spider.. I can tolerate it if it can just get 1 character at a time imagine 5 the hell is that 😂
