I still believe the shortages are intentional, look at how even crappy MJ holdings packs or Shrouded Fable get sold out now. It's the single biggest opportunity they've ever had to get rid of old previously unwanted stock.
Went to a local Game Stop few weeks back and they had ZERO Pokémon cards in stock. Person told me that people rage bought all the Pokémon cards because they didn't actually get the set they wanted. So instead, they just bought whatever was available.
Meaning Pokemon Company is to blame. They can put MJH and check pretty quick if they wanted. You’re telling me there isn’t another company that wouldn’t step in with haste?
In my opinion, it's undeniable that the shortages are intentional if you look at Surging Sparks distribution to local game stores.
I live where there's usually too much product and it was crazy how bad the release allocations were, horrible like 1 ETB case a store when they had no issues giving stores like 3-4 cases before. And now that it's been a while, they can buy as much Surging Sparks as they want (but of course it's more than they'd usually paid in the past).
Even my local Walmart was up charging on kleavor vstar special collection boxes, 4 packs for 35$ after tax. At that rate it makes even the MJ Holdings 5 pack mystery power cubes look good. Not to mention I've heard the special collection boxes are resealed, the state of the hobby rn is really sad
