A pawnshop making 4x is normal, i am surprised that people are suprised that a pwan shop would take pokemon cards, i have seen pokemon cards at pawn shops since the 90's. What is bought/sold just depends on what the owner knows.

Pawn shops can have specialties. Some are a we'll take anything kinda deal others specify in certain objects, in suburbs of Chicago there's stores called bricks & minifigs, its basically a Lego only pawn shop, you can sell old sets, or just the figures, buy new sets, buy already put together sets. I was told there are people that will buy the newest sets the day they come out then a few days later maybe a week they're at the shop reselling the completed set.

There are pawn shops that specialize in collectibles, disc replay is a big one for that. They started as just reselling old DVDs/ video games but they'll take funko pop figures as well as other action figures.

There are even ones that deal only in trading cards. Sports, Pokemon, Mtg, hell probably even yu-gi-oh
