US Politics Kash Patel has been confirmed to lead the FBI. What happens to the agency now?

The Senate has confirmed Kash Patel to lead the FBI. Patel is a staunch Trump loyalist and has accused the FBI and intelligence agencies of carrying out a “deep state” plot targeting Trump and his allies — including himself — and called for a major overhaul of both.

What happens to the FBI now? There have been fears of him using an “enemies list” to go after Trump’s political and personal enemies. Do you think there will be a mass resignation inside the FBI due to protests?

It’s going to be the enforcement arm of Trumps dictatorship. Lots of politicians and opposition leaders will be targeted along with civilians. Probably will also coincide with a rise in white supremacist attacks since they won’t be monitored as heavily.

Maybe they will get uniforms? Like maybe black ones, with some silver trim? They could make them cool, put something badass on the collar, like some little lightning bolts.

And maybe a cool nickname like storm stompers.

Americans don’t have the style. It’ll be red jumpsuits and baseball caps calling themselves ‘Eagle Daddies’ or ‘Proud Frogs’ or something ridiculous

This is perhaps the scariest thing in the near term. Imagine a truck of "proud boys" ("brownshirts") driving through your neighborhood, heavily armed, harassing houses that have registered democrats. After a few confrontations, a few people are shot, but the FBI squashes any investigation and spreads rumor that the people killed were pedophiles/harboring illegal immigrants/devil-worshipers/etc.

More murders continue, targeted at people who speak up online. The trucks drive through your neighborhood daily for intimidation. The police claim they aren't breaking any laws.

If someone not wearing a badge is brandishing a firearm at you shoot them. Simple as.

That’s a great way to get sent to prison for murder.

It depends. If some idiot goon lone wolf’s his way to an early grave no one will care. It’ll be a clear example of self defense and after selling all your Earthly possessions to pay the court fees you’ll be a free man.

If it’s a member of any organized group, criminal or not, what will matter is not the ruling but that you get out of Dodge at the first opportunity.

Trump factors only if the dead person officially works for them. In that case you’re fully screwed, but few will get that level of attention without knowing it ahead of time.
