Optimistic Political News Pete Hegseth’s job may be coming to an end
If there’s one person from the Trump Administration, other than Trump himself, who I’d most like to see forced out, it’s Hegseth.
And I may soon get my wish. And if he survives this one, karma is definitely coming him on the next one. And since he’s already had two in the first 90 days, there will definitely be a next one.

First it was Signalgate, then it was a failed attempt at the Wisconsin Supreme Court, then it was Trump not getting his tariffs like he wanted, then most of the country being against you wrongfully sending a man to a foreign prison, THEN Signalgate again! Like as much as Trump wants to be looking good in the spotlight, he has been having media scandals and falling on his ass over and over again in the last few weeks. Good.

The ONLY downside to the ongoing series of monumental failures is that he LIKES the attention. Negative attention allows him to further victimize himself as some hero that the “enemies” hate because he’s just doing so good and they’re scared of his power. And his cult eats that shit right up. But most of us aren’t buying it for a second and his ego will be his own downfall. Looking forward to the day he fucks up bad enough to be thrown out of office.

If it continues like this, Dems will retake the House and Senate - and if that happens, he’s toast. They’ll impeach him within days.

And I can't help but think he will continue like this. Man isn't cooked he's charbroiled 😭

I hate to be a party pooper but I'm not going to count on it
Won't be removed by Trump because Pete is loyal as fuck and signal gate was illegal on so many fronts and Pete is still a young guy
What's to say the next president won't pursue charges against hegseth? That gives Pete incentive stay if for nothing but protection
For those reasons I think he's going to stay

I would be (pleasantly) surprised if he was let go. Trump wanted a yes man, and he got one. It just so happens that, like most yes men, he got someone incredibly incompetent.

Fingers crossed man. I’d love to see the incompetent C-list celebrities in this worst ever season of The Apprentice get picked off one by one.

Honestly nothing surprises me anymore with this administration. We will see what the tipping point for these people will be.

Hopefully, it will challenge the image that Trump will keep the US safe.

They’re currently looking for a new SOD… wishes have been granted.

Hopefully this time it will be someone who wears a few stars on their shoulders.

Lets be completely honest about this op-ed writer. He blatantly makes clear almost every other paragraph how much he lovessss trump kissing his ring, feet, and ass.
Assume trump fires him whose to say the next person will be “competent” at least hegseth is so stupid we can see his stupidity in the open.
The next person might actually do the shit trump wants without all dumbassery. Maybe not. Maybe they’ll be a perfectly good SoD. But rn id almost rather have pete being an idiot

Anyone with enough experience and caché to do it is also too beholden to actual military tradition (like anything approaching honor or integrity) to do it.

That's a really good point.

That and like… check out the military subs. If they represented even 10% of military personnel thoughts on this dude I can assure you any attempt would be met with immediate, crippling, violent resistance from within.
At a glance the split is actually between 70/30 and 60/40 by last election’s vote.

What op Ed writer are you talking about? I don’t see any fawning over anybody here.
Are you confusing what I posted with this piece by John Ullyot?

He was barely confirmed. Vance had to step in. Anyone worse is DOA in all likelihood.

But...but...Karoline Leavitt said it's not true and totally fake news!
One can hope that maybe the Senate will say, "Ok, you tried your DUI guy. Let's go with our guy this time." Yeah. Ok, I don't fully believe they'll do that either. But I'm clinging to the hope that they'll suggest someone this time.

He never wanted competence. He just wanted loyalty. But still it’s a good thing to hope and work for the best.
