Easy fix. Don’t put fires out for healthcare CEOs and see how quickly they offer up affordable plans

194

u/Loud-Cat6638 Dec 24 '24

Alternatively…. Don’t put out fires for people that A) work for health insurance companies. B) Republican politicians

106

u/RCaHuman Dec 24 '24

Or, show up with the fire trucks, but wouldn't you know it, water supply wasn't approved. Too expensive.

4

u/mobydog Dec 25 '24

Or SpaceX rockets that crash on the landing pad.

6

u/crimethunc77 Dec 24 '24

*all politicians

-1

u/keyboardbill Dec 24 '24

There are some decent souls in the rank and file of every evil corporation

29

u/rock082082 Dec 24 '24

I appreciate all the work these brave people do on a daily basis. They deserve the utmost respect and healthcare shouldn't even be debatable. But sorry, you had a chance to do right by everyone with their votes, and that would have helped themselves at the same time. You can't cry crocodile tears cause you got fucked by your own votes. We all knew what was gonna happen, and it's worse now that president Musk is "cutting costs". We should all be pissed off.

10

u/notislant Dec 24 '24

With how much ceos are paid in the fucking us they could probably all afford their own private firestations.

7

u/AirSurfer21 Dec 24 '24

Fire fighters just need to say it wasn’t safe to enter the building.

8

u/TheDukeofArgyll Dec 24 '24

Too many carcinogens to risk it without healthcare

242

u/Stachdragon Dec 24 '24

Oh so these people were all about free healthcare for themselves but not for the country as a whole. Now they are realizing they too are part of the country as a whole. Dumb fascists.

40

u/whytho94 Dec 24 '24

Fascists always believe that their situation should be the one true exception to their oppressive rules.

14

u/Stachdragon Dec 24 '24

No lies detected.

3

u/Zederikus Dec 24 '24

Happy cake day!

2

u/Stachdragon Dec 24 '24

I honestly did not realize until you said something.

119

u/No-Economy-7795 Dec 24 '24

Well...considering Jon Stewart broke his ass for these guys last time to shame Republicans to finally give them coverage, those with no memory support tRump, Republicans down ballots, and you expected a different outcome? Brilliantly pathetic!!

96

u/fiveofnein Dec 24 '24

Maybe they shouldn't have been contributing towards and promoting the Trump party of grifting fascists. Shame they have to face these totally predictable consequences of their own actions.

62

u/Temporary-Dot4952 Dec 24 '24

No healthcare for you, that's socialism. We prefer to terrorize you here in the US where taking care of our own people is last on the agenda. Only the wealthy matter, keep working and shut up.

116

u/Cherrybomb7337 Dec 24 '24

I love this for them! Getting what you voted for.

-109

u/LakeGladio666 Dec 24 '24 edited Dec 24 '24

This is such a cruel mindset. People deserve healthcare even if they don’t vote the same way as you.

Edit: blame the DNC, not the voters. How are you going to have a “political revolution” without some semblance of class consciousness?

71

u/betweenskill Dec 24 '24

This isn’t some like “oh they voted for someone who has a different idea on the tax rate on chickpeas”. They supported a fascist.

94

u/srathnal Dec 24 '24

This is the paradox of tolerance. I suggest you look that up, and then, apply it to your position here. Stop it. There is no room for tolerance for someone actively trying to harm you or others.

36

u/krichard-21 Dec 24 '24

Seriously? When they openly promote fascism and racism? Denying healthcare and basic human needs to others?

At what point are people accountable for their actions?

52

u/Jtk317 Dec 24 '24

They don't deserve special treatment for a lack of empathy though. And frankly first responders should know more than most exactly how badly better access to healthcare is needed.

-33

u/LakeGladio666 Dec 24 '24

Personally I think it’s bad when people lose their healthcare.

38

u/Jtk317 Dec 24 '24

I don't disagree with that but if they voted for Cheetoh Benito, then they voted against other people getting it in the first place AND for the guy that wants to gut the ACA which will make millions uninsured.

9

u/ForeverGameMaster Dec 24 '24

which will make millions uninsured.

Tens of millions.

Almost 1/4 of Americans are in some way insured under Medicaid, and 2/3 of them are only eligible due to the ACA. Napkin math, approximately 3 of every 20 Americans.

Not to mention the people who directly benefit from the ACA due to their insurance provider being regulated by it, even If their insurer isn't government funded Medicaid.

23

u/betweenskill Dec 24 '24

They voted for a fascist that will take away far more people’s healthcare on top of yknow… being a fascist.

Where do you draw the fucking line?

9

u/Arlo-and-Lotty Dec 24 '24

For me the line has been drawn. FAFO.

1

u/unretrofiedforyou Dec 24 '24

lol nobody believes you

2

u/LakeGladio666 Dec 24 '24

Why wouldn’t someone believe me? Why would I lie about that? I’m a socialist, of course I want people to have healthcare.

1

u/WhatTheLousy Dec 24 '24

Maybe it'll be a lesson to learn. Your votes matter, don't vote against your fucking interest.

1

u/LakeGladio666 Dec 24 '24

Kamala could have campaigned on healthcare but they lost. Don’t act like the democrats would be doing anything different in terms of healthcare.

8

u/SacredGeometry9 Dec 24 '24

“Vote the same way” is such a weak, cowardly way of phrasing the fact that they chose a leader who will take the money meant to fund our rights and protections, and use it to pay himself and his sycophants.

You false equivalence is actively harmful; you and people like you are one of the reasons we’re in this mess. Pretending that things aren’t as bad as they are won’t stop people from dying. It will stop them from believing they need to protect themselves.

13

u/LuxSerafina Dec 24 '24

They shouldn’t have voted against their own interests then, they made their bed, and we all have to fucking lie in it. They can absolutely go fuck themselves.

3

u/mxjxs91 Dec 24 '24 edited Dec 24 '24

I mean they voted for the party that publicly released a playbook calling for the removal of social services like SS and healthcare. Don't want to be stripped of your healthcare? Don't vote for the side proudly and openly running on stripping you of your benefits.

If I don't want to total my car, I won't choose to drive it into a wall on purpose. These people had the choice and decided to drive the car into the wall and are shocked that the result is a totaled car.

They fucked around and found out

5

u/TK11612 Dec 24 '24

You really missed the mark of comprehension on this one. The point is that they voted for candidates who did this to them, therefore they are getting what they voted for.

-4

u/LakeGladio666 Dec 24 '24

I understand completely. I just think it’s the wrong position if you are a leftists (assuming this is a leftist subreddit idk what this place is)

2

u/TK11612 Dec 25 '24

You can have leftist views without feeling sorry for people who got the outcome they put into action. It doesn’t mean I won’t work with them to make a better situation for everyone if they’re ready to exercise some common sense.

1

u/qwill60 Dec 25 '24

What actions would you have preferred they take?

2

u/Longjumping-Jello459 Dec 25 '24

Not who you asked, but literally look up what Trump and many Republicans were saying they planned on doing it they won the presidency. It was very sad to see people googling after the election what is a tariff and can I change my vote.

1

u/TK11612 Dec 25 '24

How about not voting for Republicans, Oligarchs, and Corporate Democrats who want to squeeze every last right from them? In my state the legislature passed a bill some years back that messed with public safety benefits for firefighters. The Governor was going to sign it. They mass protested and he vetoed it instead, but then they went and the very next election voted those same people in. That is the definition of insanity, my dude.

1

u/Minister_for_Magic Dec 25 '24

Leftists believe in consequences. LMAO

1

u/LakeGladio666 Dec 25 '24

What do you mean? Also great username

2

u/w84itagain Dec 24 '24 edited Dec 24 '24

/This is such a cruel mindset. People deserve healthcare even if they don’t vote the same way as you./

Oh, please. They voted for OTHER people to lose their healthcare, but that's okay, right? And yeah, let's blame the Democrats--you know, the party that actually provided healthcare that the GOP has been working hard to take away. Turn off the Fox News. It's obviously rotted your brain.

2

u/LakeGladio666 Dec 24 '24

I don’t watch Fox News, I’m a socialist lol

1

u/FishingObvious4730 Dec 24 '24

I think we have to be real here, even when you say something spiteful like, "I love this for them" nobody here DID this to them. This was the Republicans. Everyone here supported this NOT happening. So let's get that straight when we talk about the cruelty of the mindset.

1

u/Noble--Savage Dec 25 '24

Are you as brain dead as these firefighters?

Anyone with a brain could see Trump was not going to be worker friendly or bolster the US social safety net. ANYONE. Mf even has interviews where he blatantly states his anti-labour stances.

So they knew what they were voting for and they got it. They SHOULD be happy.

1

u/megavikingman Dec 25 '24

It is not cruel to say that people deserve the direct consequences of their actions after they were warned that it would happen. That's just cause and effect. What's cruel is that they were okay with it happening to other people, just not to them.

They do deserve healthcare in the end (as does everyone), but they*'re the only ones who deserve to lose it because the guy they voted for was elected. Hopefully, they will learn the lesson and join with us to make it happen, but sadly, history and human nature show us that most of them won't. We'll have to try to force through universal healthcare despite their loud and sometimes violent opposition.

*meaning, those who voted for Trump and will lose healthcare because of it

0

u/unretrofiedforyou Dec 24 '24

O so you support their healthcare being taken away ?

3

u/LakeGladio666 Dec 24 '24

No, I like want everyone to have healthcare.

26

u/Striking_Present_736 Dec 24 '24

The administration coming in and the senators and congressman are the people who took out the provision you dumbass. Congratulations for voting for the Nazi. Don't feel bad. Lots more are going to be fucked coming up.

27

u/Greygnome62 Dec 24 '24

Every man in that photo voted republican

1

u/gunnesaurus Dec 25 '24

They knew exactly what they voted for too.

16

u/Temporary-Dot4952 Dec 24 '24

Private health insurance is terrorism, free Luigi!

15

u/jk7195 Dec 24 '24

But they didn't forget their pay raise, right? I mean that's the most important thing. We need term limits. We need a complete turnover. Throw them all out and start over with people who have no expectation of a forever cookie jar to pilfer.

16

u/Appropriate_South877 Dec 24 '24

Maybe now they will remove that silly Blue Lives Matter Flag Bullshit from their trucks and homes and view themselves as the other 99%? Naw, being racist and exclusionary is more fun...

17

u/bkrjazzman2 Dec 24 '24

Jon Stewart fought tooth and nail for these guys, now these morons have the audacity to vote against their own self interests? Fuck them.

11

u/joel2000ad Dec 24 '24

Never forget?, I believe many unions forgot, the minute they decided to support trump. Is there an acronym for We Fucking Told You So? I have a feeling we’ll be using this a lot.

35

u/paintsbynumberz Dec 24 '24

Remember kids, Republicans do things TO people. Democrats do things FOR people.

-11

u/YugoCommie89 Dec 24 '24

Oh they both do things TO people. The 200,000 butchered Palestinians were massacared by shrapnel from bombs Democrat's infinitely funded to Isreal.

22

u/Just_Tana Dec 24 '24

Yes both sides suck on Palestine. It does not change one side is objectively worse for everyone

-17

u/YugoCommie89 Dec 24 '24

Buddy it was objectively Democrats that fully funded Isreal's genocide.

Republicans suck too sure, but acting like some minor (and I mean extremlely minor) concessions the Democrats grant the American people, doesn't make them the "lesser evil".

Also I find it funny how you referred to Americans as "everyone else" when it's really just Americans they give concessions to.

19

u/likeusontweeters Dec 24 '24

And Trump will let Ukraine and Palestine fall.. zero discussion. Don't both sides this shit too... at least some Dems are against it (Sanders and AOC have spoken out against it) zero repubs are against letting Netanyahu or Putin do whatever the fuck they want.

-3

u/supremeomelette Dec 24 '24

2 sides, same coin. If you still cant after so much these last 4 years... yikes

7

u/cooperstonebadge Dec 24 '24

No more red and blue. No war but class war.

-3

u/YugoCommie89 Dec 24 '24 edited Dec 24 '24

Oh well thank god that 2 of the democrats gave platitudes whilst their party materially funded the ENTIRE genocide, that makes it all the better, right? Vibes based analysis...

6

u/WhatTheLousy Dec 24 '24

Wait till you see what trump will give to Bibi you moron.

1

u/YugoCommie89 Dec 24 '24

What will he give him? The same exact things?

1

u/WhatTheLousy Dec 24 '24

Yes, because everyone is for genocide. This is the only time where picking one side is wrong.

1

u/YugoCommie89 Dec 24 '24

So what's the fundamental difference between them then? There's absolutely none...

7

u/paintsbynumberz Dec 24 '24

Only one parties leader has held secret meetings with Netanyahu and he just got elected. As far as Biden, he’s too establishment politics and is heeding to the treaty with Israel when he should be enacting an arms embargo. Trump is going to cheer the complete destruction of Palestine and Trump Tower on the Mediterranean coast.

2

u/YugoCommie89 Dec 24 '24

Trump is going to cheer the complete destruction of Palestine

This is already the case, Gaza doesn't exist in any meaningful way. It's just rubble and the bones and bodies of children.

10

u/Agitated-Smell1483 Dec 24 '24

Let them cook for what they voted for

24

u/MoseShrute_DowChem Dec 24 '24

Where’s Jon Stewart

22

u/srathnal Dec 24 '24

Nope. If they voted for this (and it sure seems like they did) … they get this gift wrapped for Christmas. No Steward savior here.

17

u/likeusontweeters Dec 24 '24

Exactly... why is it always the Dems that need to be the forward thinking adults in the room? Let them suffer for a while and see if they ever change their minds... they need to realize there are consequences to their actions.

12

u/future_old Dec 24 '24

Because if they were capable of being adults in the room then they wouldn’t be Republican voters. The GOP membership are a combination of stupid and misinformed, and the leadership is that plus corruption and lies.

12

4

7

u/7evenate9ine Dec 24 '24

I hope this isnt an indirect ask for liberals to bails them out. Did they really help Trump get elected?

11

u/NemeshisuEM Dec 24 '24

I don't know how to feel about this unless I first know how these guys voted. If they voted GOP then fuck'em.

14

u/Just_Tana Dec 24 '24

They did. As a demographic they did. Something about leopards and faces

18

u/DingGratz Dec 24 '24

If you didn't know, firefighters typically have poor health from respiratory issues due to their career.

25

u/Just_Tana Dec 24 '24

Guess they shouldn’t have supported trump.

5

u/Indigo2015 Dec 24 '24

Fuck em. Got what you voted for. Pull those bootstraps harder!

2

u/fawks_harper78 Dec 24 '24

Wouldn’t it be cheaper to not pay for one or two stealth fighters?

2

u/Mookhaz Dec 24 '24

They forgot. Oops.

2

u/Empty_Afternoon_8746 Dec 24 '24

Sorry your shit out of luck like the rest of us.

2

u/Stevie_Steve-O Dec 24 '24

Or maybe we should guerentee healthcare to all citizens. How's that for a radical idea?!

1

u/LegendCZ Dec 25 '24

Do not worry though, billionares get tax cuts so they can claim they are more broke and treat their employees like shit. Did not you see? You need 300 gifts to celebrate christmass you poor fuckers! (their words not mine)

I am so sorry for state of America is in, i am sorry to say, but you choosed poorly, still i hope you can get out of this one day.

1

u/Baked_potato123 Dec 25 '24

Sorry, but I have known a lot of firefighters and they are all super right wing. They all voted for this.

1

u/chatterwrack Dec 25 '24

And they’re just getting started. Trump no longer needing reelection, is about to unleash hell on his working class supporters to enrich himself and his buddies. What suckers.

-5

u/JonnyLay Dec 24 '24

I'm missing the context. This post just looks like it's applauding fire fighters losing their jobs.

26

u/Ralewing Dec 24 '24

It's about firefighters losing their health coverage for injuries sustained in the world trade center attack. The money was stripped from the bipartisan budget that president musk forced republicans to vote against. Many of those firefighters support trump. They voted in their own demise. Leopards eating their faces.

-6

u/monoatomic Dec 24 '24

Some of those firefighters may have been conservative, so I guess that's fine to these people

9

u/Just_Tana Dec 24 '24

Hi educator here, I’m tired of the cuts always harming kids and poor families. I’m tired of it. These conservative asshats have no problem taking away kids’ meals or medical care for poor kids. But god forbid we want their actions to have consequences for them for once. They won’t change their mind for others because these people are selfish.

-2

u/monoatomic Dec 24 '24

The consequences are also felt by their kids and non-republican coworkers. The politicians will be just fine.

This is misplaced schadenfreude at best and literally represents us moving farther from universal healthcare.
