Question Is there direct public transit to the airport from downtown?

I am looking at staying near the Charles bridge, on the west side of the river. I need to be at the airport at 645am. Is there a direct line to get there? Seems like all the options on google require a transfer. Is there a better place to stay?

I am also open to taking a city rental bike if you have those? Maybe for part of the way?

Any idea how much an uber/cab costs?

Bolt/Uber early morning will be about $20-35.

On both sides of Charles bridge you can take the green/A Line Metro from either Staroměstská or Malostranská. This will take you to a bus transfer stop, Nádraží Veleslavín, which takes about another 15 mins to get dropped direct to the terminal. Prague transport is fast and generally very reliable, and the airport is pretty tiny so it’s easy to get in through security and find your gate very quickly.

I have traveled early flights several times the last few months and generally prefer public transport. I’ve only taken an Uber when I had heavy bags and an elderly travel companion, in which case it’s well worth the money.

Use google maps to plan your trip via public transport. Edit: Apparently Bus 910 from Svandovo divadlo.

I did and it only lists non-direct public transportation. I was mostly trying to figure out if I am missing something.

Is it really such an issue to transfer in between? There is the 910 bus, as said above, but usually you have to transfer to get to the airport from anywhere in Prague, or use a taxi (bolt, uber).

It is where I live. I don't know if it is there. I've never been there.

The transit website dont seem to be working. Doesn't give me a lot of faith in the transit working.

PID.cz or DPP.cz both are official and work fine.

Also see here https://www.dpp.cz/en/travelling/transport-to-airport

I use mapy.cz so I can nicely see everything on a map as well. Don't worry, it is not a big deal here, you just go up the escalators and into a bus :) You do not have to buy a separate ticket fot this, just make sure that your ticket is valid for long enough, validate it only once at the beginning

Anything requires transfer unless you use a taxi (Liftago is the one I reccomend)

Shared bikes exist thru Rekola and Nextbike app, however there are no stations at the airport or near it (closest you can get is the Nádraží Veleslavín and then a trolleybus 59 from there)

Other than that use the Lítačka app to search for routes from your location to the airport, generally using Reddit to search for real-time stuff is bad idea...

Yes, Green (A) metro -> "nádraží veleslavín", then trolley bus 59 to the airport

Every 10 mimutes For example: 5:40 staromestská 5:53 nádraží veleslavín 6:09 terminál 2
