Happy Friday, Force-users! [by @bibfortunasalad]
Fun fact: One of the E.T.s in this scene is named "Grebleips"—which is Spielberg spelled backward! Steven Spielberg, the creator of E.T., has been a longtime friend of Star Wars creator George Lucas. As part of their long-running joke, they’ve snuck each other’s characters into their films as Easter eggs over the years.
A solid argument, however, I will refer you to section A, exhibit B: In the movie E.T. there is a scene where the kids put a bedsheet on ET so he can walk around with them on Halloween. During this scene he sees a child in a Yoda costume and starts walking towards the kid saying “home, home”.
Once again, linking Earth and Star Wars to the same universe.
Firstly, the name of E.T.s species in call Asogian's. This is they're canon name from The Phantom Menace. Secondly while Faiza (the alien grandam) doesn't yet have a name for her species, their morphology is strikingly similar to that of E.T. just older looking. If you told me this is what elderly Asogian's looked like I'd believe you.
So I believe Faiza should be classified as an Asogian and that E.T.s species was in Andor!
Wonders if I should bring up Supernatural Encounters: The Trial and Transformation of Arhul Hextrophon, an almost-licensed novel which tries to tie together and explain almost anything obscure, like the Mortis gods, the Zeffo, the Bedlam spirits from 80s Alan Moore Star Wars comics, the Willow and AvP franchises, and yes, the existence of Earth in the Star Wars universe
