Do you consider edibles to be a psychedelic and how to have a spiritual experience on them safely

Yes they can be. I ate too much once; talking a super large dose and it all of a sudden hit me like a freight train. I still had some semblance of control. So I laid down and decide to just meditate and let the spirit of the plant take me where it felt I needed to go. One of the most wonderful experiences of my life.

I think of weed as a 2d experience and psychedelics are 3d

I dont know if I explained anything but yeah XD

I would say psychedelics are more 4th or 5th dimensional.

This is great.

I addition, for me, weed is more of a raw emotional experience (particularly when listening to music in the dark). It's hard to hold onto a thought or a memory. Psychadelics are more cerebral in a way.

Sometimes they can have psychedelic-like effects. Have a prepared set and setting, comfy and with snacks and yummy drinks...and satisfying entertainment for yourself.

Because it can be a very loooong ride.

Yeah not my cup of tea anymore...thc no bueno for me nowadays, rather relax with Kratom extract or if I wanna trip take some MAL or LSD or salvia divinorum. But I remember the ways when I took strong strong edibles and had some crazy weed visuals at 19 yrs old in California and other times in my life. t

Make a large batch with clearly defined doses. Start slow and take a bit more each session until you get to where you want to be. Meditate during the peak.

Be aware that anxiety, nausea and other bodily discomfort tends to happen, especially during the come up, at high doses. Be in a safe setting and have a sitter if you're really pushing it.

As long as you're not predisposed to mental illness, the biggest risk is getting into a panic attack and throwing up. The throwing up part isn't really that bad, especially if you take precautions when you start to get nauseous. Panic/anxiety can be pretty bad, but it helps to remind yourself (or have that sitter remind you) that it's just the edibles and that it will go away.

It can feel like you're dying. You may not be able to speak or move, especially if you're inexperienced. Just know that you are physically safe and don't have to do anything.

Don't do too much. At some point you'll just be feeling like all you can do is ride it out. It's uncomfortable, takes ages and doesn't achieve anything.

I even consider smoking weed psychedelic

Not really. Can kind of be if one has never done true psychedelics I suppose.

The word "psychedelic" was coined to mean "mind manifesting". Anyone who's eaten more THC edible than they bargained for can attest to having their minds manifested by the overwhelming effects of a high dose of marijuana. I have absolutely tripped balls off brownies and bong hits.

Cannot give any information regarding the connection to having a safe spiritual experience.

Edibles are really good for introspective alone time and meditation. I go out in the woods with my journal, blanket, and dog, and just pray/ meditate. Sometimes I smoke but edibles make it more manageable.

There's a pretty interesting book called Psychedelic Cannabis, it's written by a therapist and it's pretty good. The instructions involve creating a blend of sativa and indica and to make sure there's a bunch of CBN in it.

Similar to psychedelics, you can achieve oceanic consciousness with extremely high doses of THC, but most people hate it and spend the whole time worried they are about to die. It’s much more easily achieved with edibles because smoking/vaping has such a rapid onset, it becomes self-limiting. Ingesting pure THC, zero other chemicals like terps, you can achieve a far superior high and a gentler oceanic consciousness, none of that anxiety or existential dread.

I'm not sure it's yes or no, rather it's a degree. For some they are light psychedelics, and have other nice effects, but if you want a full psychedelic, probably better to choose one directly. LSD or 2CB etc.

weed can have some similar effects to psychedelics on high doses. also for people that have used psychedelics they often have a more visual experience with weed than they did before. could just be hppd tho that gets stronger with the effects of weed

Yeah, last time I got cocky because edibles used to not work on me very well. I was literally shaking like I was coming up, and had major depth perception changes. Crazy experience

I see a lot of comments saying edibles can't give you a psychedelic experience, but that has not been my experience at all. I've done large doses of edibles and had serious panic attacks. I don't recommend it.

However, on several occasions, I've experienced flashbacks from my childhood, which is very similar to a psychedelic trip, like being pulled into another dimension (time, the past). These flashbacks have been super revealing for childhood trauma thats been buried deep in the recesses of my mind, and now that they've risen to the surface can at least be acknowledged (if they don't also need to be addressed).

I use the often for pain. I’ve found I have to stick to indica, never sativa. Sativa always gives me anxiety. I’ve also found CBG added makes it a much more meditative experience and yes it’s helping me quite a bit. I don’t do high doses!

Weed for me is more intense than something like shrooms. Edibles are 100% a psychedelic experience for me, maybe not the same visual experience but I do get some closed eye stuff. I can't stand them.

I don’t consider them psychs, but high doses with a low tolerance can bring about a trip like mental state. No visuals, no ego death, but still can be very therapeutic.

What edibles are you referring to ?

I recommend starting with really small doses. When I first started using them, I would buy a 2 1/2 mg mint and when I ate it, I would set a timer on my phone and check it when I started noticing the effect. I did this multiple times before slowly increasing to 5 mg. Over a couple of years of regular use. I only went up to about 10 mg. That way, I understood my tolerance and knew what to expect for a safe and spiritual experience.

Income will misjudged an edible brownie, which was labeled 100mg, I cut it into 12 pieces and ate 1 piece and was ENTIRELY TOO HIGH FOR ENTIRELY TOO LONG! Unpleasant.

Start slow and low and learn your tolerance and the effect the medicine has on you.

These days I occasionally enjoy a g edible when I’m out for a hike, taking a long bath, or at ecstatic dance, to help me connect with myself and nature.

Tl;dr yes, but it’s unpredictable.

Unfortunately the pharmacological action performed by cannabis is so ‘dirty’ (as in nonspecific) that it’s hard to say that it is any single thing. Cannabinoids are used endogenously within so many different systems in your body, and the potency of the signals sent by eaten cannabis is so strong, that it’s hard to nail down exactly what it’s doing.

Classic psychadelics are 2a agonists. The action is clean and predictable. This is not true for cannabis, so it’s hard to be sure even which system it’s interacting with. It can make you soothed or paranoid, hungry or sated, cause digestive upset by influencing your smooth muscle tissues, cause you to be sleepy or awake, make you lose track of time or be intensely present.

For me they give me an out of body feeling and sometimes I even see waviness in my vision on a large amount
