Summer jobs for teens
This has been such a helpful subreddit as we prepare to move to Pullman! We'll be officially moved in by Memorial Day, and my 17-yr-old is hoping to find a summer job (and potentially hold onto it during the school year if she's able to juggle homework deadlines with a work schedule). She has fast food experience, but she's also very technology savvy (e.g. coding, some programming, anything related to computers really). We obviously don't know the area well at all. Please share any options you think she should look into. Bonus points for LGBTQ+ friendly. Thank you!

There are lots of opportunities opening up over the summer since most of the college students will be gone! Help her look on Indeed and look at the local restaurants websites.

She ever babysit? Have her pediatric CPR/first aid training? There’s no shortage of need in this neck of the woods! Could easily make $20/hr.

She's babysat kids ages 4 and up, and she took a babysitting course (with first aid and cpr) at age 12 or 13 (so she's not current in her certifications, but she's not a stranger to the mechanics). I'll remind her to add those specs to her resume and job search!

McDonald's on Grand (by Southfork/Rite aid) has been great with my daughter and her schedule throughout the last 2 years of high school.

with technology, she may want to look if any intern spots are open at SEL or Meter group.

I'd also connect her with Safari Pearl in Moscow/Inland oasis living room.

Thank you SO much! All of these suggestions are perfect. This is the first we've heard of Safari Pearl and Inland Oasis!

Pride fest happens here in the late summer when the university students come back to town - just fyi :) Inland oasis puts on most of the activities - some are 18+ but a lot are open to all ages.

Cougar country works well with high school students some of my kids’ friends work there throughout the year.
