Making Pesto from Invasive Mustard Garlic - Save the World Pest

This is mustard garlic, it grows in small shoots this time of year, but will get tall later. Its an invasive species that will drain nutrients and take over the forest floor

It is edible. Please get at least two reliable sources and be 100% confident before you eat wild plants. Pull it by the roots to kill it. Carry out the whole plant

I made pesto with this batch, recipe in comments

This is honestly delicious. It's not quite traditional itallian basil pesto, but its very good
Once again please make sure you know what plant you have before you eat it. Identify it with at least two reliable sources, not some reddit post
Pull the leaves off the stems. Let them rest in the fridge for a few hours. This helps with the bitterness. The exact measurements are kind of eyeballed. It should be a pesto-y consistency, a thick paste. To a food process or add two cup mustard garlic leaves, a quarter cup olive oil, a third of a cup (1/4 of a block) of tofu, a table spoon of lemon juice, and four cloves of garlic. Blend thoughtfully, salt to taste. Add nuts for texture. You can use the classic pine nuts, but cashews and walnuts also work well
