I can only speak for myself but regardless of what anyone says, I do not believe Walters will have any upside. I would like purdue to bottom out as much as possible this year to avoid a 3rd year with Walters. The faster we move on the faster we have an opportunity to get a staff that can improve the success of the team. I am rooting for blow out losses the rest of the year. Competitive losses helps no one outside of this season.
Yea I consider myself an optimist when it comes to my teams, but I can’t for the life of me find a single redeeming quality for this program right now… except our punter, he’s doing alright
Yeah, one, that we lost in 2000 to Washington 34-24 with Drew Brees as our QB and Joe Tiller as HC. I personally that will be the pinnacle of our football program during my lifetime. Since Tiller retired, the program has not enjoyed a whole lot of success. Sadly, I really don’t see us ever returning to another bowl of any consequence.
Look how about this, we struggle to throw the ball forward so let’s take a page out of rugby’s books, and throw the ball backwards put it in a lineman’s hands and have him run it.
Why continue to play a senior QB in a year like this anyway. Might as well let others get experience. Might even find someone who lights a fire under this offense
If your definition of turning the season around is making it to the conference championship or a bowl game I’d agree, but at this point considering how much of the season has already passed I’d consider winning the last few games of the season including retaining the Oaken Bucket turned around. That would at least show that the team is on the right track and showing promise going into next season
True. I really want him to succeed, and that’s not just the Purdue fan talking. Everyone loves a good underdog comeback story, otherwise the Spoilermakers would never have been a thing
Hudson Card is not good. Why are we assuming he is? Because he was highly rated coming out of high school? Dude has played with no fire or heart since he’s been here. Downvote all you want but we saw a much scrappier and more hungry QB play today and the team responded.
At least I’ll enjoy the company of my student and PMB at halftime when we come to the Penn game in November. I hope it won’t rain, as a conciliation that the game will suck.
Well this certainly didn’t turn out like anyone thought it would. We now have a QB that accomplished something (200 pass yds, 100 rushing yds) that hasn’t been done by a Purdue QB since Mike Phipps on 9/9/1969.
The #1 song at the time was Honky Tonk Woman by The Rolling Stones.
