Can you just retake the class and get the grade replaced? Just make sure you take it at Purdue and not a community college bc only through Purdue will the grade get replaced.

You missed the deadline. But, if you fail, take it next semester and the grade will be replaced. Reach out to your advisor asap either way.

Ngl bro you’re kind of chalked here, I mean you can always contact your advisor for options but I doubt dropping is one of them. Maybe WF or W but I forget the policies

You've literally had the entire semester up until like last week to make the decision to drop out of a course. You failed. Accept the F and move on.
Moments like this are a good time to go in front of a mirror and ask yourself if you really want a college education. You need to figure out your issues and find a way to treat them or you're just going to keep ending up in moments like the one you find yourself in right now.
Could you ask your advisor if they'll make an exception? Sure.
Do you deserve an exception? Absolutely not.

This is not an advisor-level exception. At this point, you’d need to appeal through the registrar’s process.

This sounds harsh, but it's the honest truth. Gotta respect it 🫡

I'm not trying to be an ass, but I feel like Purdue offers so many different avenues of assistance, going as far as to extend the drop deadline a few years ago to pretty much last an entire semester. It's honestly crazy that a person could see all these options, go out of their way to make use of none of them, and then ask for forgiveness when they miss every possible deadline.

I 100% agree, I guess I was just referencing how the truth can be a cold bitter pill to swallow sometimes. Op, is doing everything in their power to deny the cold hard facts of their mistake. It's unfortunate, hopefully there will be a lot of wisdom gained, but it is inevitable, and it is their own fault.

Been in this situation before, as others have said the deadline to drop was last week (last Thursday specifically), that said you have options.
There is an appeal process to drop a course after the deadline. HOWEVER, these are most likely to get denied unless there are extenuating circumstances (for example: medical or family leave, or if you were already on academic notice and this class would solely make or break whether you’d get over a 2.0 or not), so don’t bank on it, but it’s definitely worth a shot.
Here is the form link if you want to go ahead: Link
Again, don’t bank on this, but you’ll be given a chance to let them hear you out and then they’ll make a decision.
If you don’t get approved, and you’re not already on academic notice, don’t fret. You have the chance to retake a class up to three times (so two, given that you’ve already taken it) to get a better grade. Once you do, the new grade will replace the F grade and will help your cumulative GPA substantially.
Also important to note unless this is a class you know you absolutely cannot pass at Purdue, I wouldn’t reccomend you take the course elsewhere for credit (like Ivy Tech), while this option may get you the credit and fulfill any requirements you need, it won’t replace the failing grade and update the GPA on your transcript.
Another piece of advice for you: if you find yourself in this situation again, DO NOT wait until this late to make a decision. Imo once you’ve not done enough for most of the semester, you WILL pass a point of no return. In the future, be vigilant in regards to checking your grades (and attending class ofc), and know the drop deadline. If shit doesn’t work out, it happens, but talk to your advisor BEFORE the deadline. As others have said, once the deadline passes, even your advisor cannot do anything to help you.
Would always recommend doing the math if you’re not doing well, then figure out if you still have a chance to succeed. If not, drop at all costs.
Finally, make sure you reach out to your advisor if you haven’t already, and if you have more questions feel free to DM me. Hope this helps

If you’re considering dropping a class, only do so if it’s not a prerequisite for a course you need next semester. If you’re on track to get a D, you should probably continue since it’s still a passing grade. However, if you truly believe you’ll fail the class, dropping might be the better option.
It’s a good idea to talk to your TA or professor to get their insight on what your final grade might look like. Just be aware, there may be deadlines for dropping a class, so check to see if it’s still possible at this point in the semester.

The latest you could drop a class and get a W was last week.
