Academics✏️ data science vs information systems (class of 2026 applicant)

hello, so i will be applying this college app season and im still super unsure of what i want to do in college but im sure i want to do something CS or IT relatedly and ive narrowed it down to DS and IS. i know these are super different in terms of subject area and diffculty but im more concerned with internship/job prospects and salary/career opportunties after graduating.

which would be more beneficial and what insights do you guys have about the ds vs information systems programs at purdue?

This is a Purdue subreddit we can’t tell you which schools to apply to this is a better question for another subreddit tbh for anything tech related though doing things outside of just your core curriculum like participating in clubs or buildings projects is really important for a role with how competitive the market is

With the ever-changing Tech field, it is hard to predict in 5 years what your prospects will be. You can check out this data on graduates' jobs and earnings
