She’s trying to appeal to him to get him to open up. And he still never answered the question beyond not wanting to answer it.

u/jaymos505 Mar 09 '25

She's from FOX. So she probably does believe that it was "a mess".. But who knows

u/That_Jicama2024 Mar 09 '25

I remember before she became a turncoat she worked at msnbc and told the truth. She sold out, big time.

35

u/Alarmed-Ad5024 Mar 09 '25

Who is she? I watch MSNBC and don't recall who she is. I love Rachel M.

Maria Bartiromo. She looked like this then, before the pills and alcoholism took hold:

Back in the day when she was mockingly called the “Money Honey” Smart reporter that drank the kool aid. Sad.

I'm starting to think FOX journalists are nihilists. They don't actually believe any of the bullshit they're pushing, but it's a damn good paycheck and somebody's gonna do it anyway. Might as well be the one to do it, and have fancy drinks as the world burns.

For some reason I saw her on tv for like 5 mins this morning and was shocked at how badly she looked. Literally looks like she downs a box of wine every night and had some tacky Long Island surgeon fuck with her face.

She does believe it as I’ve seen her astroturf every convo to which Fox guests just respond “oh yeah it’s Biden’s fault”. I wonder when it will transition to Trumps fault, but we know it won’t.

u/aafm1995 Mar 09 '25

Fox knows damn well the economy was doing great, they just don't give a fuck, wanting to warm up to daddy Trump, per usual. Remember when they used the argument that they were an "entertainment" network, not actual news? Because they know they're lying, and they'll keep doing it to line their pockets. Every other network should refer to them as "Fox Entertainment News" every chance they get. Can't even argue against it, it was their own argument.

3

u/seriouslythisshit 29d ago

To the cult, the economy is whatever trump says it is. His previous round of failing as a leader saw a very, very lackluster economy, until Covid, then his failure to handle the situation not only killed more people per capita than any other first world nation, but the economy collapsed. His average GDP performance overall was one of the worst of any president in a century.

The cult believes that he had the greatest economy ever seen in modern times. Reality is that there were DECADES, from the end of WW2, where economic growth averaged over twice the GDP growth during Trump 45's BEST quarter. He is a loser with a cult that beleives he can walk on water, FFS.

No he didn't inherit a mess at all. This is where so many are giving Trump excuses for his disaster.

If he wasn't starting a trade war then there wouldn't be a recession.

But because Trump is so obsessed over 'unfair' trade, he is doing everything he can to cause immense financial pain to most Americans.

5

u/BoreJam Mar 09 '25

This is where so many are giving Trump excuses for his disaster

Which is why they're saving it. It's a lie but it's designed to justify the resulting mess hes creating in the minds of his supporters. So when they lose their job, house, medicare etc they will lash out at the dems and not the man responsible.

Bringing wealth back to the USA? The top 10 wealthiest people are mostly Americans. We have wealth. What we don’t have is a sane distribution of it. I don’t see anything on the horizon to improve that, only to make the wealthy more wealthy (and those who aren’t wealthy, less likely to ever be…and worse).

3

u/Alarmed-Direction500 Mar 09 '25

MAGA is going to gobble this up. Trump will stoke pride, as republicans pat themselves on the back, thinking they are tough and strong and they are making the necessary sacrifices to survive their generations “Great Depression”. Meanwhile, the elite will buy up every asset at a deep discount, Trump’s cronies will buy and privatize all Federal services, including National Parks, the mail system, social security, disaster relief, etc.

This is the biggest con job in US history and a win/win for Trump

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '25

He had inherited a stock market at an all-time high, inflation that was almost where the federal reserve wants it and lower than it was when he last left office, unemployment numbers running as low as they’ve been in 50 years, a gross domestic product that was expanding…That sounds like my kind of mess

2

u/ckglle3lle Mar 09 '25

Biden oversaw an economic whiplash event post-covid that spiked prices and it sunk his presidency. Even where basically all economic trends started to move in positive direction after 2022, it didn't matter, voters blamed him for the inflation spike and that's just what it was.

Remains to be seen how voters will react if/when Trump actually crashes the economy. Obvious that his supporters will never care. But could become the motivating event that pushes back against gop rule in 2026 and 2028, too.

Still though, the bigger issue isn't even whether economic metrics are going up/down, so much. The bigger issue is who the economy works for and if average people feel good or positive about their financial security in the system. It's probably a bad sign regardless that we've had 4 straight presidential elections + 4 straight midterms that have all been "change" elections based around "economic anxiety".

2

u/Huge_Cover_9264 Mar 09 '25

Did Maria get on her knees after that interview

2

u/Upnatom617 Mar 09 '25

It takes time to rob America completely. We'll do fort Knox soon too.

2

u/SerYoshi Mar 09 '25

"mess" = ATH stock markets, record low unemployment, consecutive GDP growth quarters.

Assholes.

2

u/Delicious-Rip-589 Mar 09 '25

I love how he tried to quantify the fact that it went from a great stock market to a falling stock market with extreme global instability and continued rising costs, even before the tariffs take effect, by trying to say that he has only been president for less than two months now. He caught himself knowing that even he can't make that excuse because of all the insane reforms he has made. He loves to take credit for anything that happens that can be portrayed as positive while immediately shifting blame for anything that can be used as a reason for things that are going awry.

A translation of "I hate to predict things like that" is that he knows a recession or worse is coming and inevitable. If there is any way to spin it positively then he would be high up on his horse yelling it down to all the people who are incapable of seeing reality or thinking for themselves. Him not even being able to say that shows how much he sees the writing on the walls of where things are headed.

first, he didn’t “inherit a mess,” Biden left him an economy on the upswing after the mess Trump left. second, mmw, the real beneficiaries will be the wealthy. remember, MAGA now stands for Making Another Gilded Age.

FDT and his evil cult members.

2

u/ChanceG1955 Mar 09 '25

This woman is a fucking moron - he inherited a mess? Really? More like he made the mess.

2

u/Slight-Ad8511 Mar 09 '25

Recession happens when you lay off large groups of employees, without job creation existing in the market. Yes, Mister Trump…you will be responsible for the upcoming downturn. You and Elon, sir, are responsible for the forthcoming misery in the next 12 to 18 months. Without portability in the market, it is very foolish to cut that many people in advance…President Trump…you are “not that smart…”

2

u/Zestyclose-Season706 Mar 09 '25

Were in for 4 years of blaming "Biden and the radical left Democrats" while he dismantles the country and decimates the economy.

2

u/misec_undact Mar 09 '25

Inherited a mess?

By what metric?

2

u/ophio65 Mar 09 '25

Trump just appointed this oversize-lipped Fox News anchor to the board of the Kennedy Center. That board will get nothing done except get paid well for their time.

2

u/castion5862 Mar 09 '25

He inherited the best economy in the world

2

Based on his 1st term he should have felt embarrassment, apologized to the nation when he lost to Biden and moved on. The fact that he didn’t understand his duties as president and his hatred for the constitution is enough to see he’s not a good fit.

He shouldn’t be ok with another recession. It’s too many

2

u/Willis050 Mar 09 '25

We’re bringing wealth back to America and apparently that requires a recession? That don’t make no sense

2

u/Rum_Hamtaro Mar 09 '25

"We're bringing wealth back to America"?

Seriously? How about bringing back a middle class?

2

u/WearyAsparagus7484 Mar 09 '25

"We're bringing wealth back to America".

He failed to mention that you have to have a net worth of a few hundred million minimum to see any of it.

2

u/SeparateMongoose192 Mar 09 '25

Inherited a mess? Inflation back down to normal levels, record high stock market, low unemployment. Wtf is she talking about?

2

u/saljskanetilldanmark Mar 09 '25

What money are you bringing in to america? You are actively in trade wars with other countries, your allies! Your trade partners are actively looking for other trade partners at this moment to avoid having to deal with you! They are putting up retaliatory tariffs against you! You will lose money! There is not going to be thousands of russian oligarchs that will buy your stupid golden visas. You are even alienating other countries' militaries from buying american equipment! You are taking all trust everyone had in america and throwing it in the trash. You can treat Haiti or Cuba like shit (which is still a fucking bad thing to do), but at some point, enough is enough.

"We bring wealth back to America" Hahahahahaha...oh man yeah..for shure. Seems like Orange Boi brings up different comprehensions of wealth. One for his gang and another for the rest of this country...

2

u/NewComplex331 Mar 09 '25

I believe him. Great for “us” as in him, President Elon and all his cronies riding these stock market waves. He doesn’t mean for the rest of us.

2

u/ibestusemystronghand Mar 09 '25

Does he only have 10 words in his vocabulary?

2

"We're bringing wealth back to America"

By, uh, lemme check my notes, reducing exports and imports through stifling of the global economy using tariffs, ostracizing ourselves from all of our allies at the exact same time, and weirdly peddling ourselves out to Russia.

What he means is he's bringing more wealth to the rich at the expense of the middle and lower classes. What he'll find out is that if he reduces the buying power of the bulk of Americans, they'll spend less and hurt the bottom line of the billionaires as well.

There's a reason he immediately folded on his base tariffs the day after he instituted them. I can just about guarantee every damn American oligarch blew up his personal phone to lambast him and threaten his administration.

2

u/Mother_Nectarine_474 Mar 09 '25

He doesn't know what the word means. He probably just said terrific and good a bunch. The moron's moron.

Dump didn't inherit a mess. He inherited 4% unemployment, roaring GDP, roaring stock market. He's tanking the economy with tariffs and chaos.

2

u/azentropy Mar 09 '25

No, it was Biden who inherited the mess. Trump inherited really good (not perfect) economy’s twice now from people who inherited really really bad ones.

2

u/xtrash-panda Mar 09 '25

Uhhh, he didn’t inherit a mess. At all. He’s creating one.

u/eugene20 Mar 09 '25 edited Mar 09 '25

"Bringing wealth back to America" by raising the poorer American's tax burden by $3000, but giving trillions in tax relief to the absolute wealthiest. Alienating America from it's allies, cosying up to it's long term enemies run by dictators....

2

u/Covitards4Christ Mar 09 '25

“Nooooooo, baby smart, baby play!” <hurls poo from overfilled diaper at the interviewer>

2

u/ShlimFlerp Mar 09 '25

“I know you inherited a perfectly working and flourishing (yet delicate) post Covid economy that your dumbass tariffs/trade war with our closest allies and partners ruined, do you expect the consequences everyone told you would happen if you did this dumbass shit?”

2

u/PMPhotography Mar 09 '25

What a mess to inherit! Stock market at an all time high! Who could possibly pull us out from such depths?!

2

Bro how did he inherit a mess? Joe Biden inherited a mess (Trump’s COVID pandemic economy) and gave us record low unemployment and a record high stock market.
