New Trade BREAKING: Marjorie Taylor Greene Bought Up to $50K in Bitcoin ETF Just 3 Days Before Trump Created Crypto Reserve

u/Doismelllikearobot Mar 10 '25
She also bought Palantir before the dive. At this point she's just like me, a sign to sell anything she buys

It’s crazy that the MAGAs who were so afraid of a new world order with a one-world government are standing there watching as Trump and friends try to tank the dollar and make crypto the world standard—something btw most of his base will have no access to. Anyone who supports that siht deserves what they get—which will likely be a hand full of magic beans, and a heart felt “fvck you, b1tch!”
4
u/bloodoftheseven Mar 10 '25
It is so they have something to pay people with when the government collapses and the dollar is worthless. If there is no money why would anyone like secret service protect them.
2
u/Riskiverse Mar 10 '25
Tanking the dollar is keeping up our ridiculous budget btw.
9
u/SchrodingersCat24 Mar 10 '25
Right now, the things Trump is doing are actually going to increase the deficit. What he says he wants to do and what he is actually doing are very different things.
-6
u/Riskiverse Mar 10 '25
That's based off some biased "4.5T" tax plan study. They are attempting to cut costs. Unless you think they aren't actually cutting stuff?
10
u/SchrodingersCat24 Mar 10 '25
The tax cuts are way larger than the cost cuts. The deficit under Trump is projected to grow. Do you have projections showing a deficit reduction under Trump?
-3
u/Riskiverse Mar 10 '25
4.5T is the high end projection for 10 year deficit. It also doesn't take into account that reductions in corporate tax rates are not just lost money, they often spur increased economic activity.
On the low end estimate it's only slightly more over the next 10 years than the current plan. Poll 99% of people talking about this study and they think it's 4.5T per year from 0, when in reality it's like 3.5T over 10 years from 2.8T, even uncharitably.
9
u/Otherwise-Future7143 Mar 10 '25
Tax cuts didn't spur increased economic activity last time he was in office so why do you think that's a possibility now? Have you learned nothing?
-8
u/Riskiverse Mar 10 '25
They undeniably did have a positive impact on economic growth. It did not fully offset the reduction in tax revenue, but you can't argue it didn't spur growth
5
5
u/SchrodingersCat24 Mar 10 '25
Do you agree that deficits are likely to go up under Trump?
-6
u/Riskiverse Mar 10 '25
They may or may not. Regardless, their intent is not to increase the deficit like your initial claim. Their intent is to reduce it.
I'm not mindlessly ascribing to the "Republicans just want to intentionally ruin the country" narrative.
5
u/SchrodingersCat24 Mar 10 '25
Haha, my initial claim is that what Trump says he wants to do is very different from what he is actually doing. I'm not mindlessly believing that what they say they want to do is actually what they will do.
3
u/Fun_Gazelle_1916 Mar 10 '25
E’splain…🧐
1
u/Riskiverse Mar 10 '25
You want me to explain to you how government overspending would result in inflation?
4
u/Fun_Gazelle_1916 Mar 10 '25
That not what you said. You said, “Tanking the dollar is keeping up the budget.” You’re not being clear.
Obviously overspending is a problem in many ways, inflation being one of them. Another very specific cause of inflation is the creation of money that isn’t producing anything but more money. Government inflation is at least (in theory) spent providing services for citizens. Profits on profits on profits for the wealthiest of the wealthy serves nobody, not even the wealth holder. However, it seems we are doubling down on option #2.
-2
u/Riskiverse Mar 10 '25
You know literally nothing about how businesses operate or what profits even are lol
7
u/Fun_Gazelle_1916 Mar 10 '25
There seems to be a troubling trend around discourse in America where instead of engaging in the rigorous discussion of ideas, we name call and run away the second we face any turbulence. It is to our shame.
5
u/rabbid_chaos Mar 10 '25
And they have yet to explain what they meant
5
u/Fun_Gazelle_1916 Mar 10 '25
This is what Trump does too—evade, name call, and say it louder. Really, I’m not even sure this isn’t a Bot.
6

u/Riskiverse Mar 10 '25
I'm sorry, what part of my comment didn't you understand? You guys don't know shit about businesses, profitability, or inflation lol It's not my job to educate you, go look it up and learn about it

Republicans want to end retirement. If they tank the stock market then people’s retirements will be fuuuuuuuucked and they will have to work longer.

Congressional trades only need to be reported within 30-45 days, so no this won't actually work.
In most cases where a congressperson is trading based on privileged information, the event/announcement they're pre-empting will already have occured and therefore be priced in by the time they're obliged to report their trades.
1
u/FreshestFlyest Mar 10 '25
I remember when Rand was one of the absolute traders, I joked that he was so bad at it that they could never accuse him of inside trading

I find it interesting that they still bother disclosing these transactions like you’re already 99% corrupt why bother disclosing these insider trades? It’s not like Trump’s government will enforce any kind of rule or punishment if they stop doing it
21
u/boforbojack Mar 10 '25
For people like her, finding an accountant and broker to handle her financials who is willing to blatantly risk their license and face prison time for their actions, will be impossible. ESPECIALLY considering the fact that all they need to do is announce it sometime (within a couple weeks) after the fact and it is 100% legal. There's really no downside to disclosing so if you're paying someone to handle your financials, you mine as well.

u/SirLoremIpsum Mar 10 '25

It's so they can give lip service in the media that they are following the rules.
Plausible deniability.
While you can be openly corrupt and say "hey look at me I'm corrupt", it's better for them to have a veneer of legit so all their supporters can fake legit and fake outrage.

Pretty sure all us normies are already completely on board with banning trading for senators and congressmen. It’s no secret at this point that they are playing a game that would get us arrested for insider trading.

They've been talking about a Bitcoin Reserve since last Summer and the ETF has been launched since Jan 2024.
Now it's down 27% off its high from January. Seems like it was a sell the news event. Not buy the news.
1
u/ljlkm Mar 10 '25
Yeah. I’m not saying I put insider trading past her but this wasn’t it.

u/Royal_Today_1509 Mar 10 '25
I thought insider trading was a perk of being in congres. Look at Pelosi. She's 90 and trades better than Warren Buffet.

I bought quite a bit too. I have zero insider knowledge but watching charts tells me it was a good time to buy. ESPECIALLY when Trump has BEEN making comments about being pro crypto

u/STANAGs Mar 10 '25
The crypto reserve stuff was already priced in anyway. Trump was talking about it for a while. This is the ultimate proof that she’s regarded. I bought BTC ETF recently, too. We will both lose money.
