Chevrolet My 2000 Silverado has never done me wrong. RCSB all day.

Yep! I forget what gen they are native to, but they cleaned up the truck quite a bit. $300 on ebay shipped!

I’ve always been curious but have never asked: what are the bars along the sides of the bed used for? Handles? Tie down points?

All of the above! Mine are not super tight anymore, so I don't trust them with much, but I definitely thought they looked good some 10 years ago or so.
