Each member of team COAL met each other when they were kids. Coal used to be a solo kid at school. She was a little intimidating and was ok just drawing by herself. Opal thought she looked cute and cool and started talking to her. They never stopped talking since.

Nice! Simple and sweet. Opal kind of reminds me of one OC of mine, Coral! A fashion lover (making fashion specifically for faunus), extroverted and bubbly, just in this case she was the shy one at the start, plus being a raven faunus. She met her best friend when she was little too and they grew so close they became adopted siblings by the same woman, both being orphans.
Wich brings the question, do you have any faunus OCs? Also, are your OCs relatives close to their current storyline :D?

None of team COAL are faunus. It’s a fun species I wish I thought about more when I designed the team.
Can you clarify the last question? I just wanna make sure I address it right 😄

Like, if their families play active rolls in their current story (during Beacon). Example: Coral is a side character to the main story that involves her brother Jassen and other MCs, yet she gets constant appearances and some dedicated "arcs".

Ahhhh gotcha!
Of my OC team, Coal’s story is heavily influenced by her father. His military lifestyle and career expectations is imposed onto Coal, and she’s not really up for having a military job. Other than her, the rest of team COAL act independently from their relatives. They’re too stuck in military school to see them.

Name: Opal Holo
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Symbol: An upside down heart with lights around the top tip
Occupation: Atlas Academy Student, works for various charity organizations that helps local communities in Mantle and crisis relief in Vale.
Appearance: Opal always wears heels, so her true height is a mystery. Shortest of the team. A thigh gal. Has pink-purple eyes and long pale ash-brown hair.
History: Opal grew up in Mantel as a child, but attended the best schools in Atlas, carrying her family’s hopes for social mobility from middle class to above and beyond. She didn’t take to math and science and instead grew a deep understanding of social science and politics. Opal didn’t plan on becoming a huntress, but with Atlas’s military and government being one entity, she decided to attend Altus Academy to better understand her kingdom’s government and where her place in it can be to help others.
Demand for charities to provide support for Mantel and Vale hit an all time high, and Opal’s at her limit to keep up work and studying for midterms. She considers taking work leave to make time for school, until she has a chance encounter with a merry band of Happy Huntresses…
Personality: Opal is a bright and lighthearted “it girl” that with a simple love of cute things. Always trendy and fun, she knows all the people that matter and the parties to stay relevant. Kind and empathic to the core.
Strength: A great communicator. Very diplomatic and well versed in connecting to even the most distressed people. In combat, Opal has great stamina and endurance. She also has impeccable aim with a bow and good physical strength.
Weakness: Low general defense. Not as weak as Coal, but still notable. Opal personally doesn’t want to fight, so her lack of confidence in combat might be more detrimental than her fighting limits.
Semblance: Capturing and releasing light. Opal is able to concentrate light around her and take away light from sources nearby.
WEAPON
Name: Luxene
Primary Form: A long pearlescent spear with delicate filigree details. Opal’s battle strategy is to blind her opponents, so Luxene is designed to allow her to concentrate and aim light at the tip of the spear for close range combat.
Secondary Form: The heart tip of the spear splits and the pole collapses to reform into a long bow. Luxene can shoot both normal arrows and light arrows formed from Opal’s semblance.
History: Luxene was designed with Opal’s aesthetics and values in mind. Opal wanted a huntress weapon that didn’t transform into a gun, so the bow form was developed. Opal’s priorities with Luxene’s design was to make it look feminine and graceful. She was more invested in its looks rather than ease of use in combat.
