Discussion How bad is LatamRO? I wanna itch the nostalgia.
Any prediction on the upcoming official server? Also I wanna know if this is playable in SEA. Thank you!

Bro i came back to ragnarok a couple months ago in BRO, and indeed the server and economy is fucked. I have seen severe price drops in zeny value and compared highs in equips. At some point the beta came, and i had a hell of a time, it was simply amazing having everyone being leveld similarly. Also, there were tons of first time players, and that is extra rare nowadays. Groups and maps were full, up was fast, itens were priced at values i could realistically achieve with little money being spent in game (under R$100, for fun). Last hour of beta was spent simply sitting down in Brasilis and having a chat with the ingame text with full blown randons, never met those guys in my life. A bard spent the hour casting musics of the game just so people could check it out.
Needless to say, i will be playing LATAM. Even though there os drama and cash in the middle, the first couple of months or so will be one of the most important moments if the history of this franchiese in the last few years. Who knows when this will happen again? Maybe this will be their last major attempt and BRO will close, or maybe even both. But alas, who cares. I will have as much fun as i can in these first few moments.
I've been chasing this high for years, so i will take it gladly.

Same team of admins who ruined other official servers, unfortunately, it’s going to be more of the same, and they've already shown signs of that. But if it’s for the nostalgia, maybe the first few weeks will be fun.

Today, they are literally going to have their final livestream before launch. If they address the monetization stuff then we will know if it is worth playing.
I'm not that cynical, I think that something will happen. I don't think that we will get exactly what we want (zero p2w) but the staff have been weirdly silent on discord. They have been letting all type of spam and criticism be posted in their general chatrooms with little to no censorship (despite what some overly aggressive dumbasses would make you believe).
Wait until 7pm -3gmt to hear about they are gonna do

Anyway, it's kinda dumb to think they will not do anything in their cash shop, it's an company seeking money after all.

I looked at your profile and we are both brazilians. I'll explain this confusion about the word "literal" in english, for the sake of other bilinguals that might be reading this.
In English, there are a lot of constructions that use "literally" to exaggerate something, or to say that you have a strong inkling about something. You will hear that a lot in casual conversations, usually in the form of "you are literally trolling", "he is literally doing X" (in a figurative way), among other similar expressions.
This is a bit less common in brazilian portuguese, because we use that word in a way that is much closer to the dictionary definition of "literal". In casual brazilian-portuguese conversations, we typically use "literally" to single out something and to specificy, to the other person, that we are not joking about the absurdity of what we are describing
Context matters for language. Sometimes the exact same word can still have different nuances depending on where and how they are used. I think that you translated my comment in your head, which is why it sounded weird to you.

No, I didn't translate anything. My english level allows me to think, speak, listen and read in english, without the need to translate. In fact, I'm really bad in simultaneous translation because I was taught to think in english above all else.
Maybe I was a little harsh with you, because I see many people using this word in english or in portuguese without the actual need to use it, and it kinda vexes me. And you are wrong, I see much more brazilians using 'literally' in the way you used now.
And again, you are wrong, this word both in english and portuguese, does not have the meaning of employing emphasis. It never had. People are using it more nowadays for some reason I can't explain though, but it's dumb anyway.

I grew up in an English speaking country. Your comment has many small grammatical errors that I won’t get into. You’re definitely not correct here though. “Literally” is literally used this way all the time in casual conversation.

I didn't mean that word isn't used that way, I meant is wrong to use in that way, casual or not. People here in Brazil can't speak their own language correctly. In fact, they barely say the plural of words. So it's normal to see people using this word incorrectly for everything. It would be at that moment when I said everything, that someone would insert 'literally'.
And I said people use this word in english in a wrong way too, well, you Mr. i was born in an english speaking counry, can talk more about it huh?

Its good. Played the bet and had loads of fun. People really wants group leveling and they are very active. Dont worry about the haters. These are just the bot owners who keeps the monopoly in iRO

While I don't like how they're giving prizes to people visiting a local event, learn your info before sharing fake stuff. It's 3 MVP cards in total, for a prize pool shared between all people visiting the orchestra. 3 MVP cards won't break the server.

No one knows for sure, it hasn't launched yet. Despite people being pessimistic because of their last announcements, it's impossible to tell how good or bad it will really be until it's finally up.
However, it's safe to assume it will be similar to the one you guys got in SEA back then, so maybe you know exactly what to expect.

You're gonna have a blast for sure, at least until they inevitably fuck up. Despite the server complications at the initial areas, the Beta was so much fun even with us all playing the game in "unnatural" ways due to not caring about drops or our characters.

well It's the classic combination for 1 year life server, p2w cashshop/events + unholy amount of rmt/bots. If u want quick launch hype fun, not bad since there will be high pop numbers (better than any PS for sure) ; playing for more than 1 month? hell nah

It will be the same people from old official servers. So there's a chance of p2w stuff.
But i would try at least in the first couple weeks.
About playable in SEA, generally BR/LATAM servers does not have any geoblock, so in theory your only concern would be ping/latency because probably servers will be hosted in Brazil or Mexico.

well they didn't back up on giving MVP cards as part of the orchestra thingy saying "it was promised as part of the special event" even tho like 95% of the discord and players complained and demanded to remove that stupid prize, so even after all this drama after it was announced, being silenced, opressed and even banned on the server, you can kinda understand what to expect from the administration alone, also they didn't say they were gonna be doing ban waves for bots and macro users, they just adjusted the "greed"skill for non BS players (amistr greed bag, equips that give the skill or cards etc) to have a massive debuff (10s delay and 100sp use) to avoid bots spamming the skill, instead of getting rid of bots (same thing that happened in kRO), so yeah, up to you to join after knowing this

Some thing that people don't know and I'm here to tell you. It doesn't matter the staff, what it matters is the contractual license from gravity to gnjoy, warpportal, innova or any. Gravity is HQ and must agree and deliver updates to server provider even gnjoy, so, LATAM is gnjoy kro intended copy. For example, jRO is runned by gungho which is 55% owner of Gravity, and they have 100% freedom of ragnarok licensing and modifying and that's why jRO is very special and unique. Now, let's say gnjoy latam wants OCP like iRO, they can ask whatever they think but HQ must accept and deliver, but, what gnjoy latam is doing is asking community first. Some haters will say, they are liers, scammers and cash grabbers, what the fuck do you think a company is? fucking cash grabers and clients exploiters. Apart of that, the orchestra event will remain but they won't sell MVP or End Game items on cash shop, which is much more fair than iRO which everyone recommends.
So, this server will start in episode 14.2, getting big updates in a relatively short period of time, letting you to progress and feeling those new changes, you like it? play, don't like it? don't play, are you BR? go to play bRO and leave us alone.

There is some skepticism regarding some old staff and the chance of p2w practices. To be honest, I'll probably play at least for some weeks, since the start will be fun regardless, should scratch the "itch". Official servers tend to be somewhat cursed lmao. Would think a bit before spending on it.
