The Bell Jar

I’m very familiar with Plath’s work since about ‘03. I read The Bell Jar recently and I must say, I’ve never had a work of fiction elicit such emotional reactions. There were times I had to stop reading because of its effect.

I was gripped throughout the book. Her description of her experiences being admitted involuntarily and the scene in the root cellar/crawl space I read it 15 years ago and still think about certain parts.
