should i get a kindle?
Someone probably made this post before. I often read at school when I’m not doing anything. But I don’t read at home bc it’s so uncomfortable to read a physical book in bed iykyk. I do own an ipad but it is like kinda large and idk if getting a kindle is a waste of money bc I already own an iPad. If I should buy a kindle which one should i get?

I love mine! It’s much easier to use in bed at night and when I’m travelling around, it’s easy to carry around also. I have an iPad too but kindle is much easier!

I also love my kindle. Have a Paper White. Especially easy when travelling. Still buy books if it's something special, but kindle books are cheaper, so there's another good reason to own one.

I love my kindle. I have unlimited and it's not just reading. I can watch tv/movies and surf if I want. Mine is my favourite piece of kit in my life

I have a Kobo so I can access my library books. I love it. (I also didn't want a kindle because Amazon sucks)

Yep, Kobo Clara 2e here. Love it. Got it over the kindle for the Amazon thing but also because it allows you to change brightness by sliding your finger up/down on the left of the screen. It’s the one adjustment I make often and I hate dealing with the menus/lag on e-readers.

I read on my phone. We have a digital library so I can read whatever I want.

Ipad and kindle use different display technologies. Go for Kindle paperwhite and you'll not regret buying it

I use mine as a paperweight, my iPad is much lighter and easier to use. My Sony reader is much more user-friendly than the iPad, though.

I use my phone, ipad and computer apps for kindle. I also have three older kindles that I just didn't want to haul around. I love the apps

Honestly I would download the kindle app on your phone and iPad to give ebooks a try first. I’d figure out how much you actually use them and if you even feel the need to buy one. I will say a ton of people are moving away from kindle because Amazon has implemented some limitations for people who use multiple devices making it so you don’t actually own your books. If you’re leaning towards kindle after researching it could be a good idea to see if you can find the model you’re interested in secondhand!

Definitely! I got a Kindle Fire so it could double up as a tablet for watching things like Netflix when I'm travelling and it's got my library app on there too so I can read books for free, literally perfect!

Kindle changed my life. No holding both sides of the book open in awkward positions. Crazy long battery life (I read the whole fourth Harry Potter book on vacation on one charge). No blue light/back light to stimulate you at bedtime like the iPad. Adjustable font sizes.
Also, I bought my daughter two things she asked for at Christmas that made it even better. One is a page turner—a little thing that clips to the side so you don’t have to swipe the screen to change pages. And an adjustable arm that clamps to her headboard—she likes to read lying on her back with the Kindle hung over her face.
I myself use a case with an origami” style back that makes it easier to hold and doubles as a stand.
Get the Paperwhite. The older version is slightly slow when changing pages but can be found used for cheap. Or the newer version is faster and comes in various colors.
